Oooh, this one is trippy. The colors and shading are an excellent craftsmanship at it`s best.

Re: Maestral and other winds...

Thanks, glad to hear and thanks for your interest. Drawings were made by the stylus, they`re digital and were later on re-drawn as vectors. Aside of that, many of those drawings could not be easily transferred into animations since they ought to be broken into portions/sections/pieces, most likely p...

Re: Newbie to this

I hope you`ll have enough patience to go trough the table of contents for this chapter of Manual.

As is, it`s difficult to say without knowing how does the photo look like, what method and steps shall be the most efficient.

There is a lot to discover in Inkscape and my warm recommendation would be bookmarking this link:

Re: Maestral and other winds...

Hi, guys! Along with festive days, here`s something new from my kitchen. These are the ink drawings evolved into animations. So, from the initial sketch, trough ink, vectors, gifs and finally with some sound - here they are animated: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5630231/Inkscape/inktober/inke...

Looking really good.
Could you "shake" him/her a bit - some gesture with the wings or with the body?

Re: Problem with text baseline spacing (line height) in 0.92 Pre

My experience with late editions and fonts is also not so great but it does look strange to see on your screenshot 1 em as line spacing where it should be 4 or 5. Could this particular example be related to the font itself? For some reason, I still can`t figure why, and I`m also not quite sure when ...

Re: blending issue

Could it be that you have lowered the opacity of these objects?
Do you have two or more layers with some sort of blending enabled?

For starters...

Upload either your file or just a screenshot to some host and pass the link here. That could resolve the mystery and overcome the language barrier.

Re: not drag drop in to inscape

Still, if you copy the image on web (right click / context menu / Copy image) - one may paste it (ctrl+v) into Inkscape since that image will be called from cache. I really am not aware of any other program which could handle this type of drag&drop, with the desired outcome.

Re: Not bounded

Most likely, you`re using the bucket tool to apply color on an empty background. That would not work since that tool is meant for applying uniform fill on already created shapes. If you`d prefer to have plain color as a background either go for Document Properties (Shift+Ctrl+D) and change the backg...

Re: How to handle non-unicode fonts in Inkscape?

Obviously, your preferred choice of font is not supported in Inkscape.
Further elaboration and bypassing would most likely last longer than expected response from the vendor.

Re: Open vs. Import

Opening the file would initiate new Inkscape instance (since there are no tabs), containing only the content of that file. Importing the file would add it to the already opened Inkscape, thus adding the content to the already existing/opened file. Sounds similar but you may not drag & drop and o...

Re: How to handle non-unicode fonts in Inkscape?

By definition, non-unicode fonts are easier to handle but still... You`re still unclear about what is exactly the problem.... What kind of characters does that font contain? Is the poor or disrupted kerning a problem? Are the characters displayed oddly or wrong? / "...the characters are messed ...
