Re: What Inkscape version allows me to make a silhouette image?

Have you thought about making a screenshot capture from your magical 3-button-click-program and then trace it in IS?

By the way, which program is it?

Re: What Inkscape version allows me to make a silhouette image?

Well, if only you could see the other images shown on Pinterest, you`d notice that your desired result is most commonly know as - stencil, not a silhouette.

All that could be wrong here may not be about your IS installation but about your search keywords ,)

Re: Artefacts with calligraphy tool

I`ve tried with proposed settings and there is some "noise" https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4300/35928426636_270b2490f9_z.jpg ...but when this kind of swift movements is applied - I would not look for a clean look, even on paper. I still can`t get that many holes, as in the initial post. Th...

Re: Artefacts with calligraphy tool

Your screenshot would be more informative if you had a Calligraphy tool active in that moment. As is, you have the fill rule set to fill the holes but I couldn`t replicate your issue - neither with the tablet nor with the mouse. The most certain way to check if it is a bug or not might be to draw an...

Re: unsupported .svg assets

Might depend on the content of your drawing. If you used filters or similar effects - AS most likely would not be able to "digest" it. AFAIK, simple drawings (so to say, plain) are quite well "digested" by AS. * You should also check the import option in AS and scaling of those i...

Re: Recent fonts in Text Tool

... I understand the value of this feature in some instances, but... ... I still haven`t found that one. I use fonts a lot, hence 0.48.5 installation aside of the current one. Also, maybe you didn`t already notice but the current version is friendly towards just a few types of fonts. I don`t get th...

Re: Drawing freehand parallel lines

While using a freehand tool / :tool_calligraphic: / hold Ctrl and draw a parallel line next to the existing one, which shall be already selected. In other words, when you draw a line - hold Ctrl and magic would occur. If you start drawing from the furthest one, you may spare some time in rearranging...

Search the web for image hosting, make a pick, register, upload and use the link to share the image with us.

Other than that, could you add a line or two about why do you need Inkscape in the whole endeavour?

Re: Saving as a High Res File

Check the size of the drawing, scale, measures, ect. but you could also check this page of Manual as well.

.png may provide a better image quality but once you get the satisfying quality - converting .png to .jpg should not be a problem.

Re: Is it possible to make 2d game art with inkscape?

Sure, but there`s a lot of sprites to be made.

p.s.
If you can organise and support the whole production - count me in. It`s been a while since I`d like to go for something like this.

Re: Precision Issue

Most likely, you have default settings and it might be better to keep it that way. When I followed your steps, the difference was there with the zoom at 200% but the one which you showed in the circle is at 25000% and in my case, not even that much wide as yours. There could be a load of reasons for...

Re: Precision Issue

When intersected or in other way trimmed, curves in IS tend to deform in a different fashion. Proportionally, green circle`s outline is more affected with this intersection, more than the blue one - hence this slight difference. p.s. Use the Node tool to compare the both outlines. p.p.s. The differe...

Re: How to automate rotation in order to export as video frames

Of course, FCP can deal with the rotation/s and other transformations. Even more, rgb pdf is also welcomed. I`m not quite sure if FCP would find the difference among the Adobe and IS pdf`s but it`s worth trying - you`ll get the vectors in your video which may only enhance the output. @SaturnusDJ Go ...
