How to replace an image?

I had initially imported a rather large image. I already carefully drew some bezier curves on a layer above that image. It just occurred to me to replace the original image with a smaller size of it. So now I have the 2nd image ready to replace the one in the Inkscape document. Is there a function/b...

[solved] How to add a knot at a specific place in the line/path?

https://sites.google.com/site/javierwebfolio/_/rsrc/1458311955202/temp/inkscape_howtoaddknot.jpg Hi all! I need to place a knot right at the intersection I marked. I know I can add knots in between knots, but in order to get the new knot at that intersection implies affecting the neighbour knots, t...

Re: My imported images arrive larger inside Inkscape

Thanks for the suggestion LU, I thought that would have done it. But it didn't :(
I went to the Preferences (Shift + Ctrl + P) and changed basically everything that had "90 DPI" to 72 DPI.

When importing after that the image's dimensions were still 2560

My imported images arrive larger inside Inkscape

I create a PNG file that is 2048 x 2048 in Blender, then I import it into Inkscape, but it arrives at 2560 x 2560. So far I just scale it down to its real size and move on, but I wouldn't mind changing a setting or something similar ONCE and for all.

Thanks guys,

How is an obj added to a drawing?

I'm following the well-known " INKSCAPE TUTORIAL: SEAMLESS PATTERNS ", from Syllie. At step #4, there's a line that says: "...Any object you add to the drawing is now added to this group." I don't think I know how to "add an obj to a drawing". I know how to add it to th...

Re: Where can I animate my drawings from Inkscape

Happy Holidays everyone! Hey Aink, would you mind sharing what animation set up you found to work for you? (programs and procedure, assuming you're still animating). I'm particularly interested in hearing about your experience with Synfig. I'm just looking into setting this up for the first time, so...

Re: Unlocking an obj, how?

Geez!!! I don't think I ever had to come back so many times to one post...

Unfortunately the Ctrl F feature, although highly practical, it doesn't always work :( Very disappointing I must add.

Anyone please?!

How to make your own personal color palette?

You don't have to explain step by step, you can just point me to where I can find this info in the Manual too : )

Re: Unlocking an obj, how?

Ok, NOW I really got the right answer:

"The Find dialog (Edit → Find... (Ctrl-F)) discussed at the end of this section, is another way of selecting objects." - Taken from the Manual.

It does work!

Re: Unlocking an obj, how?

Actually! Nevermind my prev nevermind!:( (I spoke too soon)

I didn't realize that what I've got when right clicking wasn't "Unlock obj", but rather: "Undo: Lock obj" :( - Of course I'd get that as an undo!
I guess I still need my answer then :(
Anyone?!

Re: Unlocking an obj, how?

Nevermind!

The answer is: R-click on the obj itself ;)
It would probably also work if we were to leave the obj properties window open aside.

[solved] Unlocking an obj, how?

I notice we can lock/hide objs from their Properties window. But how do we reverse this? Is there some kind of objs list available somewhere from which I could select that obj and make available again?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Adobe Hand Tool

Thanks for your replies guys :) Simarilius, I would agree with you if I only wanted to pan up & down (as for using the scrolling wheel), but what if you actually wanted to pan diagonally from the upper right corner of the document to the lower left? Without the Hand Tool you'd have to do 2 movem...

[solved] Adobe Hand Tool

You know that little hand one can use to navigate in the documents? I find nothing else is as intuitive nor as practical. Can we do that in Inkscape?

Thanks,

Wow! Nice tutorials MU! :)
Thank you kindly. I have been meaning to learn just that for some time now.

I found the culprit of my problem though! StarOffice/OpenOffice
That's what I'm using to put the webpage together. But as soon as I used
Nvu instead my images look right.

[solved] Getting crispier/sharper small images, how?

I need to get sharper images at only 100/100 px size. I have been exporting them to PNG, as it's the only format seemingly available. They look great while I'm in Inkscape of course, but as soon as I export it it looks so blurry in the web page  Can anyone please advise on this? I am limited to...
