Re: Absolutely INFURIATING LINE HEIGHT & FLOW INTO FRAME GLITCH

It will be helpful for you to post your Inkscape version and system info. It will be super-helpful to share the problem file, or an example file that exhibits exactly the same issues. Line spacing is sometimes complicated. Maybe you have seen the release notes and the extensive related information ....

Re: join lines at overlapping nodes

Nodes don't even have to be in the same path to be joined. The :tool_node: can operate on different paths and join their nodes making them one path; you have to add the other paths to the initial selection by shift clicking them, or select several paths with :tool_selector: before switching to the ...

Re: join lines at overlapping nodes

Inkscape is not just any vector editor. It's first and foremost a native SVG editor. Maybe it's not for you. I use inkscape, illustrator, Corel, affinity, designspark, sketch up, blender, Freecad, LibreCAD, vcarve, fusion, aLibre, and more. None work quite the same as the other. There are many choic...

Re: join lines at overlapping nodes

Nodes can be easily selected by dragging a selection window around the nodes, and the Join Selected Nodes control can be used. http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Paths.html It seems like some of these issues are easily performed by using a CAD program like LibreCad (free), Fusion 360 (free...

Re: Saving eps file

I rekon the OP just wants to scale the image.

As for the watermarked PD images... they are on a site that harvests PD artwork to sell $hutterstock artwork and other services; and in the process, they add their own watermark. Technically fair use, but a bit cheeky.

Well there is the simple pattern fill in the Fill/Stroke menu also. (Those might not look great in a PDF.)

Please put a font or two that won't work in a zip file and share the file with us so they can be tested. It may be the fonts, it may be your setup.

Agree. Making as many objects into filled paths should ensure proper display across renderers.

Re: Newbee...

I'd use the star/polygon tool to make a triangle, convert it to a path, smooth the nodes, then use the flow text into path operation.

All that is covered in the help tutorials and online manual.

Re: Text based logo creation

I would step through the tutorials in the help menu. I'd then focus on learning the ellipse tool, rectangle tool, path operations (booleans), stroke/fill, guides and snapping. I'd make circle paths and cut pieces away, and add horizontal/vertical rectangular paths. I could auto-trace it, but that do...

Re: Cutting plotter makes dashes instead of straight lines

Really, all of this extra installation of thing after thing after thing is really getting old. I have literally spent HOURS following directions, trying to get these things to work. Really, I am better off, and I wish I had known this, of just buying the software from the manufacturer for $80 bucks...

This is the easiest and most straightforward way. I suggest Guillaume to also use this method.

Re: How to 'cut apart' an imported image in Inkscape

It depends... is the artwork a bitmap that has been imported, or are the glyphs actual vector objects? In the first case, I might just clip three instances of the imported bitmap to the regions of each formula. In the second case, I'd make three instances and delete any unwanted elements out of each...
