Re: Change font size but keep text centred in its current position

I'd try using the transforms dialog... use scaling by percent with proportional selected and separate objects selected.

Easy to select a text object and use select-same to get all the text selected.

This is so great!

I've only had a moment to look at the css animation properties, but this is helping me understand much better. =)

Re: Help cutting a "circle" image

Familiarity is the issue here, not the toolset. Gimp is a great tool... That said, vector is the way to go for logo design. Many of us here use both Gimp and Inkscape, for the things they are best at. Check out the built in tutorials and other resources like youtube Inkscape videos by Nick Saporito ...

I'd try saving a copy as a "Plain SVG" and see if it works better.

I'd be happy to test, but Safari is no longer available for Windows OS. :/

Re: Problem with modifying a specific .pdf file

Maybe, but the screwy architecture of masks and images in the defs makes me think it isn't a simple issue (which Poppler seems to make even worse).

Re: Problem with modifying a specific .pdf file

Here's how I would proceed: Open the original PDF using Internal import. Ungroup everything repeatedly, until no more groups. Clean the document (Menu: File>Clean up document) Select the top chart image, it will say "Path 4 nodes" or such since it uses the image as a pattern fill. Make a b...

An extension would be awesome.

Here's what I've hacked together so far to make a waveform:

Obviously fast and dirty, just cutting/pasting stuff to replace Jabier's code.

Re: Let lines simultaneously been drawn

I really like the CSS trick to make the dash-array draw the stroke... is there a way to include that CSS within the SVG?

(A working example would be greatly appreciated.)

Thanks!

Re: Let lines simultaneously been drawn

Yeah, I don't think these whiteboard sketchy programs do more than sequentially follow path creation order, so I suggested a more conventional/archaic method of "wipe" to reveal waveforms. (if they are waveforms... Some pulmonary/respiratory plots are loops that draw simultaneously.) https...

Maybe this: https://www.videoscribe.co/en/

What have you tried, and what was the result?

Can you provide a sketch of what you want to do?

An animated set of waveforms should be manageable in svg or gif.

Re: [solved] can't import more after importing 20 images (linked not embedded)

Compromises can be made when composing for large format print on an under-powered machine. Depending on the location of the poster/banner, the resolution could be 300dpi (or less) and reduce the filesize dramatically... the distance of the viewers to the printed work is the main criteria for setting...

Re: No-Brainer Feature Request: Variable-Width X/Y/W/H Boxes

The boxes in my current version show up to 6 digits... Justified left, so the decimals push out the right of the box.

More than six places to the left of the decimal freaks out the system.

Win 8.1, Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit.

Re: Silhouette for Bridging pieces Plasma

I believe the OP's goal is to create the full silhouette larger than it's being created by the standard offset.

I think it is simply a matter of making the outset steps bigger. The default outset step increments are probably px, when the OP probably wants inches or portions therof.

I would explore what was suggested above, and "program" the inset/offset setting for a greater distance using the preferences dialog.

In the Preferences dialog, you can set the resolution of the bitmap copy. I'd make sure that's between 300-600 dpi before using the bitmap copy operations.

Button tutorials are abundant online, so I'd surf google images for "button tutorial" and google image search "elevator buttons vector". After that, if you have more specific questions on how to achieve a particular effect in Inkscape, chime back.

Double click on a guide and it will allow precise positioning in absolute or relative values.

Files will be different between the two scale settings, so continuing to use the older versions can lead to scale mismatches and possible unforeseen problems. I'd unplug the second monitor and setup Inkscape with docked dialogs, close Inkscape before reconnecting the second monitor, then relaunch. T...

Re: Making a template for Plasma cutting??

When you save as dxf, you can specify which layer(s) gets saved by using the settings in the dxf export dialog. So, you have the option of keeping all the assets in one file, or you can save discrete SVG copies for each version.

If it were my setup, I'd dock the properties panel (and others) for startup and tear them off and float them during the working session. When done working, I'd re-dock the panels before shutting down. Versions before .91 have the scaling still at 90 dpi (instead of the current standard 96), which co...

One possible solution would be we can just ask to tag things appropriately, instead of not allowing them. I don't mind people showing off their art with undressed people. It's not the rules themselves, it's how they're applied (most are just common sense) which can make things go well or not. I pre...
