Re: No Optimized SVG Option

Or possibly you have an older version of Inkscape, which didn't have that option. Although the fact you're expecting it probably means you've seen it before, and don't have an older version.

Indeed, it's near the end of my menu as well!

Re: Filling Text leaves behind old color

On the control bar for the Paint Bucket tool, is a setting Grow/Shrink. You can put a small positive value in there, and it will fill in the gaps. However, other areas might go right over the border. Or you can switch to the Node tool, and drag the nodes or node handles around, to fill in those gaps...

Re: Paste text from Word or OO Writer

How much text is it that you're trying to paste? Did you enable to the Text tool first? After that, did you click once on the canvas? Are you sure the layer is active? If you dragged out a text box, and the text box isn't big enough, the text might not show up. However, unless you know what Flowed T...

Well, it's not easy to be a moderator sometimes. You wouldn't believe how clever the human spammers can be! We wouldn't be human if we didn't make a mistake now and then. I'm not familiar with redlining, or the other products mentioned. So I can't help with that. I'm also not sure exactly what you'r...

Re: Export SVG to DXF

There is often a size discrpancy when saving as DXF. When you open the DXF, try zooming out. In my experience, the DXF is always zoomed way, way in, so that I can't see the contents.

So possibly the file is not really empty.

Re: Dynamic zoom presets

Are you saying that something has changed for you, about how zooming works? Or are you saying you prefer the zoom steps to be set differently, or for zooming to have different options? To be honest, I don't find the zoom presets to be especially helpful. I usually either drag the zoom tool to get my...

Re: Text top layer not showing

If you open the SVG file in Inkscape, the text will show up in its original state, and you don't have to try and remember it. Select the text, and do Text menu > Convert to Text. Or select the text and to Path menu > Union, which will convert the text to paths. Now the text will show up in any kind ...

On this page: https://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php you'll find loads and loads of tutorials. They are mostly organized by skill level, and most of them (if not all) indicate whether they are text or video. (I find video tutorials annoying, myself.) Also locate the box titled "Inkscape ...

What a ridiculous OS.

I couldn't agree more. I was appalled at Windows 10! I just took my first steps yesterday to make the switch to Linux.

Also, the Pencil tool doesn't not have pressure sensitivity with graphics tablets. Currently only the Calligraphy tool does. Although I think I saw a comment that pressure sensitivity for Pencil might be coming in a new version. (emphasis on "think" and "might") While we could ha...

Re: How to keep svg page size when importing into new document

I tried to import the each png file into a new A4 size Inkscape document but the graphics became pixelated. That must mean that the images are imported at something besides their original size. Check Inkscape Preferences > Bitmaps, and make sure the Import Resolution is set for 96. If it's anything...

Re: INTERPOLATE does not work

It's possible that Interpolate is working, but the results are not on the visible area of the canvas. If you've done a lot of other work on the same layer (or changed page size or orientation), it's possible one of those transform attribute bugs is happening. Try looking around - scroll around to lo...

Re: Node colors ...

As far as I can tell, the color of a selected node, when the mouse is not on top of it, changes depending on what color is behind it. Whether you have objects behind it, or you've assigned a background color for the canvas, it affects the selected node color. For example, if I put a dark blue object...

If Inkscape was open when you installed the font, you'll need to close Inkscape (all instances) and re-open, to be able to see the font. If you've already done that....hhmm.... It could be the font is not well made. In my experience, Inkscape can be picky about fonts. Well, I've been able to install...

Re: Shape fill: Use of boundary of another shape

Could a single straight edge serve as the boundary for 2 different colours? Not with an ordinary fill (notwithstanding Lazur's trick). But the Paint Bucket tool was designed for this type of situation. Although I don't usually suggest using it, if the caveats are not too much for you, it could be a...

I don't remember 8 years ago - not for sure. Currently I'm seeing a sans serif font in the Inkscape interface (version 0.92.3).
