Re: Paragraph line spaces

I'm not entirely clear what you're doing. Are you creating a text box, which has nothing but a space, as a sort of placeholder to create a double line space? If it has nothing but spaces, how can you tell that it's not there when you open the file the next time? Do you mean that other text has moved...

Re: Object Clip > Set Multiple Holes

I would just be guessing. I would double check that all the paths are combined. Maybe double check that the paths are all closed (although it might work ok if they weren't closed.

Can you share the SVG file, with the imported image and clipping path?

Re: Invisible lines being exported

I did not investigate why that was happening, but it must be either a clip or mask that doesn't get respected correctly. Are you interested to find out why? Or is it ok to just have the other import option working properly?

Re: Invisible lines being exported

Oh ok. When I use the Poppler/Cairo import option (for importing the PDF), the cutaway cabinet appearance is retained in the resulting EMF. Since it's a fairly complex file, I would ask you to examine it closely, and make sure all the features were retained. It looks like that solves the problem to ...

Re: Invisible lines being exported

So, just to be clear, the extra lines are where on the right, the bottom part of the cabinet has been cut away. But on the left, the whole cabinet is visible. Is there more than that? When you import the PDF, which option do you use? Popler/Cairo or Internal? Ok, I'll look at your file now. Probably...

Re: Help on Oval Sign

Perhaps surprisingly, I've tried to raise these same issues about the gallery on the Inkscape website. I think if obviously copyrighted material is uploaded, it should be taken down. But others have said that's not our job, and there's some concept known as "safe harbour" which would prote...

There was another recent message which showed exactly this same logo! That user was asking for help with text on path. Oh look, same user! I guess you got it working. In any case, I don't see any extra lines and circles here. I don't see anything there that needs to be removed. Also, nothing is unio...

Re: Inkscape freezing, rasterization issue?

For creating the pattern, you wouldn't necessarily need the images to be embedded. Use the linking option instead, and you'll be able to go further, before you reach the limits of your memory. Whether you're going to use an Inkscape pattern (Object menu > Pattern > Object to Pattern), or whether you...

Re: Simulating Glass

Ok, here are a couple of other ideas you can play with. Here are the main points. -- I used a radial gradient for the main rectangle. -- I added a couple of diagonal, long skinny rectangles, although I don't think they really work very well. -- I used some blurring on the long, skinny rectangles. --...

Re: Simulating Glass

Just a note that specific work wasn't mine, yet still a public domain svg shared by gustavorezende in 2014. It's not so complicated to achieve from scratch though but why bother when a decent solution is right at hand. Oh, I apologize. I'm so used to you posting filters, I just assumed you had made...

Re: Missing paths when saving file as pdf

That blue swish kind of object is a pattern fill, inside a rectangular path, rather than being a path itself. It seems like I've recently heard that the pattern fills don't get converted properly to PDF (although I'm not sure if it's a bug, or whether it's been reported). There are at least a couple...

Re: EPS files won't import, but Ghostscript is correctly installed

Just to be clear, you mean the error message: "Failed to load file"? Have you tested other EPS files? Maybe there's something wrong with just that file? Is this that issue where forgetting a space or adding a space in the path breaks it? ..... Oh yes, see these notes from the FAQ: https://...

Re: Find features smaller than a certain size

Well auto tracing is what I was getting at with my questions. There is an option on the Options tab of Trace Bitmap dialog, where you can ignore stray marks of a certain size, in the trace. Its called Suppress Speckles. Or else there might be options on the scanner which brings a drawing into the co...

Re: Black Backround when set to desktop backround only

I tested that image, and it is definitely a transparent background. So you want the open areas to be transparent, right? And you want whatever is behind the image to show through those areas, right? But only if whatever is behind it is not black? Apparently it sounds like your system uses a black ba...

I guess the filter Lazur made, which reminds me of frosted glass, must not be really what you want. Because he literally made that filter at your request/suggestion, and gave it to you (if you follow the link). As I asked in the other topic, if you can show an example of what you'd like to do, it wi...

Re: Mouse click\select hitbox wrong

So in summary, inkscape is handling "vector-effect:non-scaling-stroke" strangely? It displays as a very small stroke but the selection tools see it is as really large? I'm not sure if Inkscape is handling it strangely or not. We'd have to ask developers about that. (Who knows, maybe the o...

Re: Black Backround when set to desktop backround only

What's your operating system? Is it exactly that file which you've attached, which you are setting for your wallpaper? Or is it a different file with the same image? By the way, that is a "bitmap" image which you've attached. I guess we say "raster" image, to avoid confusion with...

Re: I want to copy a part of the image

If it's a raster image, such as JPG, GIF, PNG (or some others) then Inkscape is not the right program. You'll need a program like gimp. Or, it's possible to convert a raster image to vector. Can you show us the image? If it's a vector image already, and it's not either grouped, or all one path, you ...
