Re: get old kanji from an image

We can't see your email address....not unless you set your board preferences that way. (Most people don't, unless they want a lot of spam.) If you can share the image with us, we can give you an idea what it will take to trace the image and take the kanjis out of it. I don't know how many of us are ...

Re: Exporting PNG - Blurry

I guess the red one does look like it has maybe a half or quarter of a percent of blur. Especially the white text. Was it scaled at all, after exporting it? The key to avoiding blurriness in raster images, is never scale them. Never-Ever. I've heard some people say you can scale them down without mu...

Moini, seems you were already in the air, and flew right over my head, with "preflight checking" in relation to CMYK. Does that refer alpha or beta testing, before it's available in a stable release? Or is that something about previewing colors when it's working? Will the several pages lon...

Having recently looked at LaTex for the first time, I can understand how it would be a bummer to have to learn it. If you happen to know Python, you might want to take a swing at writing an extension yourself?

Re: Possible to create a printable cut template?

These patterns will often come from digital paper.

Is that a typo, or is there really something called "digital paper"? If so, what is it?

Ooohh, there is such a thing!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_paper

Cool!

Re: Overlay mode objects Inkscape

Probably because Synfig and Inkscape are different programs, and they implement these features differently. It doesn't look like that part of the circle did disappear in Synfig, or else we would not see the stroke still remaining If you can tell us what you want to do, we can tell you how. If all yo...

If we just have one choice, then I'm with TD. For the love of all that is still good in this world... PLEASE Release the default.svg with px as units, and scale of 1. That one thing will fix so many broken bits for so many users. That's all. Thanks for asking! Please make px the native uni...

Re: The disappearing German Empire

druban, could you elaborate a little on the clipping path. Is it because the clipping path is a group, that it won't work outside Inkscape? I'm just curious. I actually didn't realize that you could use a group for a clipping path. I've always thought it had to be a single, continuous, closed path. ...

Oh gosh! I'm sorry no one has answered this yet. I saw it yesterday (or day before) but I can't really answer. I only have a couple of ideas about this. One is maybe you got the wrong version from the repo? The other one, is that it might have something to do with your....oh rats, I'm going to have ...

Re: The disappearing German Empire

Well, first, you won't be mocked here. If someone asks for a critique (or posts their image in Work in Progress board) some people might post comments about the content of the image. But otherwise we don't comment in the content or even quality of images which people post (unless you ask for that ki...

Re: Relative move in % of object size?

There are probably some times when I would have found that useful. Guides can already be moved relative to each other, although I'm not sure if percent is an option. I don't know how hard or easy it would be to add such a feature, but I can see how it could be useful for some users in some situation...

I'm not familiar with Ghostery, I've never used it. I notice in your screenshot there seems to be an indication that there's an update available. If it were me, I guess I'd at least try getting that update. I can't speak for Launchpad. It's one of the few sites which I regularly use, which does not ...

I interpretted that to mean that if...(I guess) she closes and reopens, that the window is off the screen again (or on the wrong screen), rather than it just does not open.

Perhaps need some clarification on that?

If it's a very technical bug which I can't understand, I would not be able to answer developers questions, or test po...

I have similar desire not to give google any info about me. I'm sure it's absolutely wasted energy, but I boycott google as much as possible. Makes me crazy just to have to allow youtube videos on my forum. But my desire to serve and support Inkscape users wins out over my desire to boycott google. ...

Interesting!

I wonder what the use case for this feature is? It seems like they ought to be disabled when the option on the control bar is disabled. I wonder why someone would want this feature enabled all the time?

I've seen that forked effect associated with Ellipse shape, using only corner/cusp nodes, but not with smooth nodes. Like draw a rectangular closed path with Ellipse, and only use corner/cusp nodes.

Yes, it's true that Inkscape developers rarely visit forums. But even if they did, they would ask you to file a new feature request. Those are handled just like bug reports, in the bug tracker, but they are labeled with "Wishlist". https://launchpad.net/inkscape Oh right, I already gave yo...

This is the first time I've heard this problem, so I probably can't help much. But I just wanted to mention that the rulers are there only as a guide. Trying to align things to the rulers will not result in precision. Instead, you should use the X and Y coordinates for precision. Or snapping also pr...

Of all the images that you showed, I didn't find the original -- at least not by their titles. Can you either share the original, or point out which one is? With that, I can give you some steps to achieving the best possible results. However, you must keep in mind that Inkscape's Trace Bitmap is not...
