Re: How Do I Convert Stroked Objects to Filled Shapes?

Why would the fill be deleted by default? If I didn't want the fill I wouldn't have made it! I just don't get why it has to be so needlessly complicated. Sorry for ranting, I'm certainly not expecting you all to answer these questions about why Inkscape works the way it does, but I do wonder how th...

Re: Line height spacing problem in 0.92.2

It was my understanding it is a bug. (or was a bug, and might still be in some cases) Not that I'm a bug expert or anything.

I didn't read this entire report, but it looks like this should explain everything: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1655483

Re: how to make an empty shape

The object has to be selected -- either with the tool which you used to make it (Rectangle, Pencil, whatever), or with the Selection tool :tool_selector: , before you can edit it in any way. You'll see a dashed line rectangle around it, when it's selected. Once it's selected that tiny x in the lower...

Re: Text no longer sharp or normal after tracing to bitmap

I've recently learned that at least one digital cutter software includes its own trace engine - think it was called Silhouette or Cameo? Not sure if any others do, but worth finding out if your does.

Re: Upload attachments

The test didn't give me any helpful results. The largest file I was able to upload was approx 250 kb. There was no change in my control panel (except for that new attachment). However, browsing through my attachments in control panel, I found much larger files had been uploaded in the past. The larg...

Re: testing attachment limits

Nothing deleted from control panel. Ooohhh, I just found the file size! It does give the file size, just not in a convenient column. It would be tedious, but I could use a calculator.... I'm thinking the single upload limit must be 250 kb. I'll try the calculator. Edit Actually I've found a PDF I up...

testing attachment limits

Hi Friends, I was just answering a message here: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1904&p=103029#p103029 about attachment limits. So I'm just posting this so I can attach a large image. Then I'll check my control panel. I suspect when we reach the limit, older attachments are...

Re: Upload attachments

I don't understand why you think a long break from the forum would cause your attachments to disappear. Attachments are still being allowed, after all these years. mircoUgly originally said You'll need to manage this space yourself--which means if you use up your 50MB you'll need to delete some file...

Re: Gradiant to follow inside path?

I thought it was a thorough and well-thought answer.

I remember making an example using interpolation. But you posted before I finished, and since you mentioned interpolation already, I never posted the example.

Maybe the op was hoping for simpler solution?

Unfortunately, I don't have the skills to understand your code. I just wanted to mention that if you want to contact developers, you'll need to use either the devel mailing list, or dev IRC. Mailing list is probably the most dependable way. https://inkscape.org/en/community/mailing-lists/ (Inkscape ...

Re: How to fill honeycomb

I thought about that too. But he seemed to specifically emphasize needing to cut out the "fill", rather than the paths (which he already had). We never got to see the file. It's true that if I need a honeycomb image for some reason (I don't use a cutter, so it's never for that reason), I u...

I can't answer your question directly. But just in case the command line reference can help: https://inkscape.org/en/doc/inkscape-man.html Hopefully someone else who knows the answer, will be along shortly.

Re: How to fill honeycomb

If you could share the SVG file with us (or whatever kind of file it is), we can tell you for sure, how to do it. Potentially the pattern could be made in several different ways, and we can't really guess how. However, it should be fairly easy to make an array of hexagons with Inkscape. Forget downl...

Re: UEFA starball logo

Well, I got a little closer by breaking the circle into top and bottom parts, and using larger stars on the bottom part, and smaller stars on the top path.

But it's still a very rough fake....

Re: UEFA starball logo

For the 2nd one, I can almost fake it, using the PAP extension with the Ribbon option. rs1.png I tried using the Perspective extension to give it some depth, but it seems to change the stars so that they look like they're in a flat plane, rather than "standing up" (holding hands in a circl...

Re: UEFA starball logo

You can sort of fake the first one, using Pattern Along Path LPE on a circular path, for the outer stars. Like this: ms1.png Or this: ms2.png And then I used Lattice Deform 2 on the middle star, to warp it a little bit: ms3.png Not perfect by any means. But as I said, it's a way to fake it, since In...

Re: CMYK drives me crazy

Omgoodness, I expect there would be tons of support for this. True CMYK ranks near, if not at the top of the most wanted features for Inkscape, in my experience. Even though I don't use it, I'd probably chip in to a crowd funding project because it would elevate Inkscape to have it.
