Re: FLAT SUN SPOKE EFFECT

In Inkscape 0.92.1, you can use the Envelope/Perspective Path Effect for this. Create a rectangle. Multiply it and arrange at regular distances using Align+Distribute dialog. Select all rectangles, do Path -> Combine. Apply path effect via Path -> Path Effects -> + -> Envelope/Perspective Play with ...

Re: Map/Interpolate Colour

Yes, kind of: https://inkscape.org/en/contribute/report-bugs/ But it's more for giving great info when you report a bug, so developers won't have to ask a lot of questions, and it's probably asking too much from the average user. For feature requests, it's ... useless. What helps there is - dependin...

Re: Where is the delete icon located in Inkscape 0.91?

The ids gtk-remove / edit-delete don't appear to work for that icon.

Re: Where is the delete icon located in Inkscape 0.91?

For me, the icon is a red cross, and the other icons in the right-click menu also don't seem to be identical to those in the commands bar.
I think this (just like cut, copy, paste, undo and redo in the context menu) could be an icon that is provided by the system rather than by Inkscape.

Re: Remap Keyboard Pan Canvas

No, sorry, I don't know about the reasons for this.
In any case, I think you should make a bug report (feature requests go there, as well), even if just to find out.
Visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape to do so.

Re: Map/Interpolate Colour

Thx! I'm now having this mental image of a dropper tool with eyes, a bit like Clippy, respectlessly pumping ink at you ;-P Any ideas for personification of z-order?... (can't fix anything about this - but you could make a feature request for the dropper tool to always just pick the color below, no m...

Re: Remap Keyboard Pan Canvas

I think these are hardcoded... (more shortcuts: https://inkscape.org/en/doc/keys092.html#d0e911)

You can also set keyboard shortcuts via Edit -> Preferences -> Interface -> Keyboard shortcuts. There, to set a new shortcut, you'd only need to press the key.

Re: Tiled clones

Are you using Inkscape 0.91, @Bossit? If so, creating a new layer and doing the cloning there will help. Or switching to 0.92.1.

Re: Tiled clones

(If the objects are different, so clones won't do, then the polar coordinates tab of the 'arrange' dialog or the 'Scatter' extension will also work for this)

Re: tucan

I think you mean the differing directions of the stitches, and that small overlap of yellow over orange in the rightmost bird, right?
They are already very, very good!

Given that at first it took you a whole afternoon, this isn't bad ;-) (and it's not really simple, I find)

Re: Map/Interpolate Colour

You can use the objects dialog to visualize z-order, Raspi. Or, what I sometimes do is, I just move the object whose z-order I'm interested in to the object, whose z-order is relevant, look if it goes under or over, then use undo to put it back.

Re: Why Inkscape export wrong Y value?

Make sure that the part of the picture is on the page (within the viewbox). The rectangle in your drawing seems to be located at 127.94, 949.46 - which may or may not be within the viewbox of the svg you're inserting it in (probably not, if the svg you're copying it into is just 100x100 px wide...) ...

Re: Map/Interpolate Colour

I'd check the stacking order. I think the last item needs to be either on top or at the bottom - opposite to where it currently is. For the dropper tool to work, I think you need to click into the drawing once first, with selection tool (or at least better not with dropper), to move the focus back f...

Re: Map/Interpolate Colour

See screenshot, for my settings (no crash).

The color values can be copied using the dropper tool. Just hold it above the color you want and hit Ctrl+C, then paste into the field, and make sure that a # is in front of the color value.

Re: Vortex Challenge

For consistent gaps. maybe the vertex raw shape could be 'stroke to path'ed instead of duplicated/rotated after setting a stroke width that fits the gap size?

As a workaround, for an unrotated ellipse, width and height values can be used. The different radii cannot currently be set directly, that's right.

Inkscape 0.92.1 Bugfix release

Hi everyone, Inkscape 0.92.1 has been released, with a couple of important bugfixes, especially for handling Inkscape files from older Inkscape versions (key word: line-height), pasting of Path Effects, and a couple of crashes. If you're using 0.92, you should definitely upgrade! The release notes w...
