Re: Inkscape 0.92 and cgode file problem

We might be able to help if you: - copy-paste your exact Inkscape version number here (Help > About) - let us know your operating system and its version - let us know the error message you get - share the file that causes the error message - explain the exact steps you take to get that error message...

Re: export png to word then convert to pdf

Sounds to me as if MS Word's pdf export is broken (maybe it doesn't keep png data as png, but converts it to jpg data to be embedded in the pdf...). I would fix this by putting a white background rectangle into the SVG file.

Re: Switch icon sizes

Mmh. For resizing the SVG, I don't know any extension that can do it. You could edit the SVG files manually in a text editor (or automate this), by changing the values for width and height. That should be a quick text editing script to write.

Re: Problems with some FONT styles

So, this is what I see:

11.svg
(6.88 KiB) Downloaded 2 times

What is missing?

Flowed text and normal text convert to path the same way, at least to my knowledge. I assume this must be something else, but don't know what yet.

Re: Switch icon sizes

Do you need the icons as SVG or PNG?

Is it the preview that you care about?

I forgot the 'break apart' part ...
Yep, I use Inkscape in German for production, and in English for support (unless it's the German forum, of course ;-) ), too.

Polygon, you mean: apply different stroke widths and do stroke to path?

I'm not 100% sure what exactly you're asking, but maybe this little essay about units in Inkscape will be useful:

Have fun learning! For radial clones with Tiled Clones, you may need to consult the manual or google.

Re: cutting/segmenting a spiral?

It's more the term 'Path' in LPE that Jabier wants to deprecate, because it's no longer limited to paths. However, Inkscape has registered a trademark for it, so it's going to stay for a while.

Re: Adding a different gradient to stroke and fill of an object

So that's basically the opposite from what I saw... I'm confused, but too tired to re-check at the moment. Patrick suggested to make a bug report about this, as the inconsistent behaviour is strange, so devs could figure out what to do, and decide if they should do anything about it. Would you like ...

Re: Scatter - Generate from path - error

Adjust the distance - it seems the circle path length isn't divisible by the dot distance.
Or choose to stretch the distances to adjust to path length (second check box in the dialog).

Or use the polar arrangement option of the Arrange dialog.
Or use tiled clones to create a radial array of clones.

Re: Plugin: get filepath of current loaded file

I see. Did the hint with embedding vs. linking help? How far have you come wrt scale? Inkscape imports PNG images either: - with the dpi value that is set in the png file or - optionally with a custom dpi value You can set that in the settings, and you can specify a settings file when you run Inksca...

Re: Adding a different gradient to stroke and fill of an object

Hm... That works for me, using 0.92.4 on Linux Mint 19 Tara. But it seems it's not intended to work - in 2013, someone removed that, so as not to clutter memory and gradient list with unused things. Swatches would be the intended alternative, if they worked so well that one could trust them. Problem...

Re: Adding a different gradient to stroke and fill of an object

There's the property 'inkscape:collect' set to 'always' on gradients edited with the old gradient editor. This property is not added to gradients that are edited on canvas only.

Okay. The difference is that if I edit the gradient with the legacy gradient editor, it will not be cleaned out.

Re: Plugin: get filepath of current loaded file

But how do i get the filepath of the input image loaded originally to inkscape? In Inkscape 0.92.x, you don't get that info from Inkscape. You need to memorize what you put in. Extensions only get a temporary file name, as they work by making a copy of the original SVG, then work on that, and then ...
