Re: Dialog boxes not visible

What is your operating system?

Do you use one or more monitors?

What file (link!) did you install Inkscape from?

What version of Inkscape do you use?

Re: Spot Colors

Yes, currently, that's how it is. This might change in the future, but we would need help with it, possibly we'd need to pay someone to implement proper color management and pdf export - and there's the need to have someone who can organize it.

Spot color does not mean CMYK. It means spot color. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spot_color

Re: Spot Colors

Inkscape does not support spot colors. If the above approach from druban is not an option, import the SVG into Scribus, and use Scribus' functionality for spot colors, then export to pdf from there.

Re: Inkscape Tutorial in Full Circle Magazine

Xav, during the hackfest in Saarbrücken, Cédric wrote an extension for 'interactive mockups' which got accepted into the extensions repository (but isn't in Inkscape master yet). I'm still waiting for hints about what it would be doing exactly (something like create clickable buttons that zoom to an...

Is that attribute set per file or per object?

Could a custom default template make it work for you?

Can you report this at https://inkscape.org/report and include all the required info, esp. also how you installed Inkscape, and if it always crashed, or if this is a new thing, and what changed since it worked.

Re: Copy and Paste from Inkscape to Powerpoint

If all you want is to copy the text, I'd click into the text, then do Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C, then paste into Word.

Else, export to emf, and import that into Word.

They're not, if your screen isn't a wide screen. You may need to click on the little icon on the right of the tool controls to show those that don't fit.

Re: Drawing for Tesselation

Have a look at the different options in the Tiled Clones dialog. http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Tiles.html

And before you do that, install the latest version, 0.92.4, instead of the (slightly) outdated one you seem to have there (and uninstall the 0.92.3 first)

Re: Making Business card Template

If you're on Windows, please uninstall the old version first. Inkscape will probably ask you to resize your document when you first open it (due to a change in handling document units). I expect it will be sized correctly for your purpose, no matter which option you select. In any case, save a backu...

Re: Wich Plugin I shall use for this effect for plotter?

So you want to cut out the outline of elements in a photo?

I would use Gimp to create the picture (play with contrast and turning image to black and white), then I would use Trace Bitmap in Inkscape with the brightness cutoff. Then most probably you'd still have to do some manual fixes.

What is your Inkscape version, minky? Each new version (currently 0.92.4) has fixed print issues on Windows lately. Maybe you need to choose to not use 'vector print'?

(to save some time, you should only do this once per letter in the alphabet, and duplicate the result for any other occurrances of that letter)

Re: Inverting an image that's already traced as a Bitmap

So, this is a font, i.e. a text you typed? Then do the following: Path > Object to path (you can skip this if the text is already a path) Are you sure you want the white part to be just a cut line, with no area? I'm not sure how one could inlay anything in just a plain cut? If it's supposed to be a ...
