Re: Let lines simultaneously been drawn

:) The scaffolding is there now, all lego bricks I need exist. Now I only need to do the actual putting together of them, to make it actually do something. If anyone's interested, work is going to happen here: https://gitlab.com/Moini/ink_delineator (and if anyone could tell me if the name I chose s...

Re: Change font size but keep text centred in its current position

Does it work if you center the text before you change the size? It's only going to center horizontally, but that's better than nothing, I guess. Or maybe it's possible with matrices in the transform dialog (but please don't ask me how... no idea about the numbers one would need to insert to scale ar...

Inkscape uses the fonts installed on your computer. It doesn't come with any fonts.

Re: Let lines simultaneously been drawn

Thank you, I didn't think of using multiple style tags. As I've been planning to try and not repeat myself too much in the styles I insert, so it can still be adapted manually without a lot of search-and-replace, I've thought of using classes for some of this, and ids for other parts. But this can s...

Re: Let lines simultaneously been drawn

I've already made a concept of the extension now... It's going to allow multiple animations in a file :) (not written yet, but I know each step already)

I've made a minimized version of the SVG, which doesn't need clones anymore.

Re: Problem with modifying a specific .pdf file

@Polygon: No, I meant optimizeSpeed. It's going to render a graphic crisp and blocky, which is what the user wants (instead of the blur that is created when Inkscape tries to upsample the image).

Re: Let lines simultaneously been drawn

Hehe, this is a fun extension idea... I'd love to make one like that.... TD, can you send me the details of the interface options and the code that Inkscape would need to insert for a selected path? That would make it faster (but still would take long, because I'm currently in a hurry to finish anot...

You can, Inkscape comes with a viewer program called Inkview. It's not... great (in my view), but it displays images like Inkscape would.

Re: SVG image link is only clickable on bottom half.

I think it could have to do with the text in the file - can you remove it or convert to path and try again? (It's unreadable at that size anyway, I'd suggest removing it, from a design perspective...) Also, do 'Clean up defs' and 'save as optimized SVG' for use on the web. It's going to be a lot sma...

Re: Clip, Set, strange effect after move/ctrl-x/node-move.

If you need to use the spiro feature, then you can 'flatten' the result before you apply any clips. Path -> Object to Path, for both paths, or before duplicating. This removes the path effect and gives you a normal path to continue working with. Or just use a clone for clipping, that could probably ...

Or maybe you would like to make a feature request at https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape ? It's an interesting idea, maybe devs would like to learn about it.

Re: Problem with modifying a specific .pdf file

For me, at least the first one is an image, not a pattern - but it's clipped, then masked, and only 256x256 px. So, yes, this is, in essence, an 'optimizeSpeed' vs. 'OptimizeQuality' issue. The best way to fix this would be to export at a higher resolution from whatever plot program you are using. D...

Re: Let lines simultaneously been drawn

So, doesn't that mean that this is a thing that needs to be set in videoscribe? Inkscape's paths are always 'consecutive', no matter if you use subpaths, or groups, or separate paths - they always have an order - and if videoscribe uses that order for drawing a single line at once, there must be a s...

Btw. you could make a feature request for adding a tolerance to the 'join selected nodes' feature. It's well within Inkscape's capabilities to provide such an option.
Feature requests go to https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape

Why don't you just use imagemagick on the command line for compressing your images, or gimp to edit them and compress on save? I'll never understand this app-mania. How many websites and other places do you want to feed your data to? Install a proper program for raster image editing and do the autom...

In the next major version, there's going to be an option to export as inkscape svg: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... mmand_Line (not available yet).
