Re: Grab Outline Illustration

And for the variable line width, I would apply a PowerStroke path effect or Pattern along Path path effect.

Additionally, make sure to always update to the latest stable version. Are you using 0.92.3? (Tomorrow, we'll release 0.92.4, so you may also wait for that)

Wait for 1.0 - that's going to have a CSS styles dialog. Or use the XML editor in current Inkscape.

Re: Stained Glass Patterns and Break Apart command

Select all: Ctrl+A Now: set a stroke, remove the fill. See https://inkscape-manuals.readthedocs.io/en/latest/fill-and-stroke-dialog.html This way, all shapes will only have their border visible, and will be easier to select. Other option would be to click on one item, then use Alt + mousewheel to sc...

And if you ever encounter a question, such as can’t say for certain if A4 is used as a default everywhere, or if there is a locale dependency that creates US Letter pages in the USA, don't hesitate to ask either here or just send me an email. (answer is: yes, it's 8.5x11 inch for en-us, and A4 every...

Re: Svg to Eps by id

Upon re-reading the man page, I think it's impossible to get the desired result with eps without cutting the objects to fit the viewbox. It seems to allude that eps does not support objects that extend over its page borders. If they all don't have a stroke but only a fill, you could cut them with a ...

Re: filters in progress

Thanks, Lazur. That's a bug. Up to now, we had it fixed on an individual basis (only seemed to affect a single picture). Seems like it will need a more general approach, though.

Would you mind reporting to https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape-web/issues ?

Re: filters in progress

Lazur, can you describe the issue you have with inkscape.org? Copying the address given in the download link (the downward pointing arrow) worked for me previously. DA works, too - right-click on the image, and select to 'copy the graphics url' (or whatever that is in Hungarian in your browser). Com...

Re: Inkscape Tutorial in Full Circle Magazine

Thank you for the background on the http/2 main change (I guess?) - makes sense it was changed in that way.

I really need to make time to read those episodes, Xav! Already pinned the articles in tabs in my browser.

Re: Svg to Eps by id

Click on 'No volver a preguntar' to not get the dialog box again. --id-only should be required to get the result you get... weird. Yes, I agree, this is a bug. Can you check out the bug reports at https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape and see if there is one for this already? I couldn't find one, but ...

Re: PDF is getting vertically flipped in SVG conversion

There's not much you can do about it, except for adding commands for selecting all, grouping, flipping the group, and only then saving as plain SVG. And of course, checking the bug reports for an existing report, and if there isn't one, create one at https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape (please attac...

Re: Inkscape Tutorial in Full Circle Magazine

Yes, I've already used SVG sprites (for icons at inkscape.org, those with two states). Didn't know that HTTP/2 is working differently in that respect - thanks for the extra info :D
(also never used #id - will it clip to the selected object's bounding box?)

Re: How to resize your palettes (i.e. tools/menus/HUD)

Sometimes, it's necessary to close a couple of docked dialogs to be able to change the size. It's a known issue with the dock. You can also drag the dialogs out of the dock to make them float (i.e. be a separate little dialog window).

If you're really using Inkscape 0.92.3, you have now messed up your extensions directory.
