Re: Iterative art

@Lazur: asking you in your role as filter expert:

Would there be a way to solve the problem described by Eduard here, by modifying the filter generation instead of the documentation?

Re: inkscape.snap does not export dxf files

Just got the info from Inkscape's snap package creator that this will be fixed for 0.92.3 and upwards, and that it *is* fixed if you use the 'candidate' channel version of the snap instead of the default (stable) one.

Re: Embed SVG

Some info relating to animations is available at the inkscape.org website: https://inkscape.org/en/learn/animation/ - most of it requires some knowledge of Javascript, but some also have graphical user interfaces that allow you to generate animations (if that's enough for your purpose).

Re: Text no longer sharp or normal after tracing to bitmap

The bottom picture, as a vector graphic, is much sharper than the top one... But I think you mean that the shapes seem to change. You can play with the threshold and cleanup settings (first and second tab) to try if you can still make it better. What would help more, though, would be a larger versio...

Re: Extnesion in Version 0.92 not working

Uninstall Inkscape completely. Reinstall it. This should fix the problem.
(Explanation: You have updated from a previous Inkscape version. Updating messes up Inkscape's python installation on Windows due to a bug. A full uninstall removes it, an install creates it again.)

Re: How can i draw an envelope path with perfectly symmetric handles ?

The issue is that here, we only want to apply the transformation in one axis, ignoring the length of the arc, and not assigning points on the top line to those one the bottom arc by using regular distances, but just by using a straight line downward. I couldn't find any way that allows to separate t...

I guess this might be interesting for you: https://www.timewasters-place.com/inkscape-and-plotters-the-3rd/ (also the two previous articles linked from there) (if you want to use it, please check if the current version still works with Inkscape 0.91 - extensions need to explicitly be made compatible...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

I would like to know some general mathematics behind a shape, curve, node, shade, color-gradient etc. For that, either read Inkscape's and cairo's code, if you're after the specific implementation of the renderer, or look into the SVG specification if you're interested in the general workings, or a...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

I'd guess it's computatively easier to have some nodes and straight lines, rather than just a corner and some lengths, and you need to compute the rest. But probably, that depends on the implementation. Might be there are ways to speed things up. There is the SVG standard: https://www.w3.org/Graphic...

Re: How to send click signal to the Apply button without using mouse?

Look into the extensions that come with Inkscape, and look for those that add a tranform (or rather: translate) attribute to an object. Or look at how some use functions from simpletransform.py - or use an XML library of your choice to add that translate attribute. (depending upon the question if yo...

Great :) We're on 0.92.2 now, not sure if you just cut off the second 2 in your post. If you're really using the 0.92 version, than you might like to update to 0.92.2.

I wonder if the bike text could be 'written' instead of floating in? There's an option to do that with dashes and offsets, as far as I remember :)

Re: Is it possible to replace "system icons" with v0.92.x in macOS?

I think that's not possible, it's using your system's system icons - it's the same for me on Linux. It's a known issue and might be fixed in the next major version (0.93).

You could also request that pstoedit be added to the flatpak - it's useful for makers and scientists :) Hope then the flatpak will be complete :)

Re: How to send click signal to the Apply button without using mouse?

That's impossible, currently... The command line doesn't take any parameters, except for those listed in the man page and this: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Using_xverbs . You could do alignment with other objects automagically, but almost everything that opens a dialog needing user input...

Re: "Failed to load requested file" for EPS in Inkscape 0.92.2 Linux

Yes, it might be that the flatpak you have doesn't include eps support, I don't know. Can you ask its author here: https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/item/10685/ ? Also please include your ghostscript version number and your libpoppler version(s) ("ghostscript --version" and for the other, as...

Wow, from that rough sketch you got to this!!! Determining the correlations between bike parts and letters looks super hard to me. Did I count ~ 23 keyframes? How did you make them?
