Re: Export as PDF for business card printing

Hello, Hi everyone - I have created a business card using Pages. I'd like to save just 1 card (rather than the whole sheet of 10) as a pdf or a jpeg file in order to email this to Staples to print out thousands of cards. How do I do this? If you are printing thousands of cards it's going to cost yo...

It works for me the way I expect it to.... more or less. You can see that if the two endpoints are not level unpredictable results happen rect163.png Can you show me more and which version of inkscape and OS are you using? If you post in the help forum you can attach images etc. I have moved this to...

Re: Applying Perspective to Grid Lines

Just to reiterate what Lazur said, (sorry Lazur) after the step PATH → OBJECT TO PATH you need to include the step PATH → STROKE TO PATH before doing EXTENSIONS → MODIFY PATH → PERSPECTIVE. You probably will need to go back and forth with undos to make the stroke width wide enough to be not too narr...

Re: Transparent Text on Circle?

One thing to look out for is the spacing of letters in this sort of drawing. Notice the text characters that are above the path that they are on are spaced properly and the ones that are inside the path that they are on are jammed together? You can fix this by manually kerning those or creating a la...

Re: How do I cut out the part of a path that is IN another path.

So to add my bit to the already thorough (and animated!) help above, when you use the stroke style to enhance your drawing as in round corners, round endcaps, etc. that element will not be taken into account when doing Booleans. To use another word you might think of it as a decorative part of the f...

Re: Transparent Text on Circle?

Xav's directions will give you the most professional result, plus you will learn a lot about using Inkscape by following them. For a beginner the very simplest method might be to 1)select the circle with larger stroke width and do "stroke to path", then 2) shift select the text so you have...

Re: How do I cut out the part of a path that is IN another path.

You have 3 petals on top, 2 in the middle and 2 on the bottom 1) select the group of three and do edit>copy 2) then do path>union 3) then immediately edit>duplicate, deselect that new path, then 4) select the two middle petals do path>union 5) select one of the duplicates on top and the middle union...

Re: Circular isometric grid

the grid does not actually exist as an object, think of it as a background picture with benefits (snapping)
if you want a circle filled with an isometric grid there are a couple of ways to accomplish this, pattern fill and clipping.
LMK if that is indeed what you want

Re: Beveled text - moving from MS Publisher to Inkscape

ok so obviously this is way less technical than all the other lovely effects but it doesn't use filters and even that is not true because it uses blur which is available in the fill and stroke panel even though it is actually a filter Not counting the pretentious and unnecessary drop shadow it's jus...

Re: Exporting PNG - Blurry

There are special techniques for making sure text is not blurred when exporting to relatively small size bitmaps, and that is what you are encountering. One solution is to create a pixel grid and follow it when designing the text parts of your image, create at even multiples larger i.e. 2x 4x The Wi...
