Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

So if I understood the concepts correctly: I can use the square-grid - for maximum future manipulation ability. And things like: dasharray, clones, pattern \ shape around path -- for shapes\patterns - which can be general and random\arbitrary - for my needs. And they will be lighter\smaller. Did I ...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

Keep an eye to the bottom indication line. If a path is selected, the number of nodes is displayed. Like "Path 4 nodes in Layer 1. Click selection to toggle scale/rotation handles". Paintings can vary alot in style and technique. Regular printers can't print with white ink so probably it's...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

Shapes are drawn with the rectangle and the ellipse tool. If you perform a boolean operation on them (like intersecting one with another) the result will be a path. Inkscape uses paths mostly, which are cubic Bézier curves. Here is a primer on Bézier curves . That means circles cannot be represented...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

Complexity? What would that be. Here we had a challenge on drawing the same image with the smallest possible size -with very similar rendering but different underlying struture. There are many ways of doing so, and the smallest ones are practically uneditable and unusable for like vinyl cutting. In ...

Re: animated svg-s

https://openclipart.org/download/293936/honk19.svg Trying to insert an audio to this one. So far could make this one work, but have to remake the audio file to fit with the animation. Have it in mp3 but somehow after converting it base64 it doesn't get "rendered" by the browser.

Re: animated svg-s

Yes, probably doable . Will you try remixing it? Having a hard time figuring out what works and what doesn't myself. Can look at existing svg codes, extract the related part, paste it into the new drawing yet still -it just hardly works. Instead, used the existing animated files and wiped literally ...

Re: animated svg-s

Using motionpath this time: https://openclipart.org/download/293899/bike-anim11.svg https://openclipart.org/download/293902/vibr1.svg -Too bad these are 2400 px/2400 px and the forum cuts them off? Tried scaling them down while put inside a group however then the animation doesn't work.

Just 7 keys. Used linear interpolation and tweaked the result to look better.
Image.

The rest in the animation is duplicates of the two ends so there is a still part.

That's a masked clone with an overlaying gradient. Tried adding in a wavy filter but it didn't work.

animation

Using smil to animate the d value of a path: https://openclipart.org/download/293654/bike-9.svg original idea came from Dordy Had problems making the animation work so a couple notes ⋅ keyframes were drawn beforehand as compound paths with stroke only and no fill ⋅ animation was ...

Re: Gradiant to follow inside path?

^-My first solution was exactly using blurring. Clipping and "punching hole" is not even necessary (as in the first linked example).

Re: How can i draw an envelope path with perfectly symmetric handles ?

Gimp had recently got such a script written by Ofnuts, check it out here.
Hoping Jabier can implement that sometime.

Re: Gradiant to follow inside path?

Bumping this.
Maybe will also add some tags for the future because that's the essence of alot of gradient fill problems.

Did it help or am I just writing for my own amusement?

Re: How can i draw an envelope path with perfectly symmetric handles ?

An idea would be using spiro-paths instead. How would you do that ?? Made a quick screen capturing here . On a second thought maybe you are after an elliptical arc instead of a circular one? Anyway the linking or the pasting option of the path effect can help with that too. Another option if you wa...

Re: Drawing a circle in a circle

This is what I mean but is it possible to make the circle to have the same distance between each other? By duplicating a circle (Ctrl+D), and using the handles of the bounding box to resize -dragging the corner handle and holding Shift+Ctrl-, you can draw concentric circles. However that won't make...

Re: Bend LPE and Transforms

It's hard to backtrack what lead you having that result in the screenshot. Possible scenario, you grouped the objects, added the lpe and then entered the group and repositioned&rotated the triangles inside. As the bending trajectory is stretched to the width of the bounding box of the object and...

Re: Bend LPE and Transforms

Guess it's more of a "feature". Transformations remaining and interfering is a huge downside of the easy editing. Probably grouping the group of triangles (becoming a group of 1 object) would eliminate the unwanted transformation, seemingly. On a side note on that image the gap issue is pr...

Re: paste of vector graphic does not work correctly

There's a bug in pasting process, it somehow changes layer blending mode. The solution is to return layer blend mode to "normal". Layer blending modes are filters applied to groups in the svg code -layers are implemented as groups since they are not part in the svg specs-. Copy&pastin...

Re: Gradiant to follow inside path?

Hi. With filtering you can build up a visual appearance of blurring the shape, utilizing its edges where the transparency drops. That is the quickest workaround that has its limitations -no fill vector pdf-s, no accurate gradient steps, no resource-friendly rendering, no semi-transparent shapes, but...
