Re: Multiple text boxes selected but only one affected by font changes

I'd guess they don't have the same styling there is some difference between in-line and t-span? That's what I remember from css. What I mean is some text has the font style added to the text object attribute, and the others have an additional font described for just a selection of the characters -wh...

Re: isolating blending in objects - help

You are welcome!

As a workaround you can move those objects onto a new layer and hide the layer visinility.
Then it will render in the filter but not on their original layer. Which is a bit unexpected but at the moment it works.

Re: isolating blending in objects - help

Filters can have basically 2 inputs: the object's filled area or a "raster double" of the background objects. A third "option" is, to use the image filter primitive to pull in one object from the svg file at a time. If you are after custom blending between two separate objects on...

Re: Gradient interpolation types

As far as I could experience there is only a linear one for gradients -that would be Coon on meshes? Not sure if there would be other options with the svg specs (checked here , there is no mentioning) -browsers not render meshes either so Bicubic is out of the testing game. This is side related -the...

Re: document ratio

While I couldn't trigger the problem either it may be worth mentioning -could even be your monitor setting; does the rest of the screen display fine?- you can set up a document with intentionally different scale factors for x and y (Shift+Ctrl+D). By using the viewbox tab and changing the default va...

Re: [solved] White lines around trace of bitmap.

Guess that's what you get when you render the image in smooth and not blocky mode. Probably that rendering issue is unrelated to any following bitmap tracing. However there is no guarantee that an automatic trace will come out with the exact same borders as the original raster image and having no &q...

Re: Can't edit nodes

Hi.

The red x indicates a raster image. Judged by the file size, it's embedded into your svg.
You'll need to trace it first to be able to edit it as a vector object. Either redraw it manually or use the trace bitmap option under the path menu.

Re: Lock file to prevent simultaneous edits

Archicad creates an .lck file once you open a document, which then triggers the program to give an option to open the file with executive access or not by the second person to prevent saving over. Inkscape never had that feature as far as I know. All I can think is trying to use symbols, which may h...

Re: No-Brainer Feature Request: Variable-Width X/Y/W/H Boxes

Certainly flexibility lacks big time. On my laptop screen when the inkscape window is on the left or right half of the screen, the H box is missing. Too bad that is the easiest way to set up screen recording and then I'm forced not to use that feature or to make unnecessary moves -which may work or ...

Off topic:
I set that to the default 96 dpi screen resolution -even that can take too much time when dealing with filters.

Re: Layer modes difficulties

It can be corrected if you add a composite:in filter primitive to the filter chain. Guess it's a rendering bug.

In general.
But honestly after opening your file can't see the glitch at the moment. Testing.

Edit: attaching a test example.

Re: My rectangle has a to big selection around it

Hi.

That object is filtered -filtering uses a larger visual bounding box, than the geometric one (default filters use a 120% larger one).
Switch to geometric bounding box in the preferences (Shift+Ctrl+P) topmost setting, and/or remove the filter (#filter5360) from the object.

Hi.

In the document's settings (Shift+Ctrl+D) switch off the "use anti-aliasing" box.

If you'd need your images to be fully black or -white, presumably- try to work with this template file:

Re: Convert Dotted Stroke to Fill in Inkscape

Hi. The dots are a result of the stroke having a dasharray -so it won't convert to a path as per se. You can create a raster copy (Alt+B) and trace bitmap the result. Or you can also try a development version compiled by Jabiertxof to test a dashed line path effect here . Once path effect added, con...

Re: Vector file and PowerPoint

Hi. Judged by the checkerboard background it seems it already has some sort of transparency. You can only use the png file to have an alpha channel -or the pdf file if you are very lucky but I doubt that powerpoint would support it right-. Would first try to see if powerpoint can display other semi-...

Well... if you want to export a png with fully aliased-jaggy- edges, it is possible to do so with filtering. Recently made a template which you can use to produce fully black&white images out of any drawn objects based on their luminosity -with no anti-aliasing whatsoever. Will try if the concep...

Re: Export as PDF for business card printing

Oh. That's yet another completely different thing. On screen, in inkscape you work with the rgba field. Regular printers work in cmyk. Litho? Uses spot colours of choice -of the pantone library as you say. It doesn't necessarily have to be of cmyk, yet alone 4 colours only or max. Can even use a sin...
