Re: How to recreate this typography with inkscape

Hi. It's more like a copperplate-like writing than one with a fixed pen angle (=parallel lines). There is no *automated* solution to emulate the effect as it is a matter of calligraphy, how the pen is pulled, how the frontline is articulated during writing etc. However there is the powerstroke path ...

Re: animated svg-s

Synfig for bones? The title of this topic was animated svg-s -nothing fancier than that, no >>animations<<. Browsers choke on rendering even such simple svg-s, we are not there yet to have *live* rendering of animated vectorgraphics of this kind. Animations may be rendered to image sequences or to ...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?

Sk1 anyone? If you want a trifolded print with high quality I'd be more concerned about the bleed/safety area/cutmarks/page size etc. for the start than embedded raster image's resolution (larger size/resolution the best-it's that easy). Colourproofing is yet another territory I never lurked into. ...

Re: Is there a tutorial to make a jpg curve? Or what's it called?

Nothing that can be done with Inkscape, if you want to deform a jpg, and not a vector image. Except for filtering, which is what a raster image editor does too. Theoretically it is possible, however with the hard-wired limitations it cannot really/easily be geometrically perfect. See this: http://t...

Re: Diffuse Lighting - Surface scale

Hi. I only remember the surface scale tab being 5 the max, bit surprised it could be set 30 once. But my guess is the end value rendered is the same, just different scales? 5 is quite contrasted when set, raising the surface above that point would be leaving out the midtones soon. With a bit of comp...

Re: Imported png wont display

Hi. I'm not familiar with the wmf format but my first guess would be even if it supports raster images, it probably doesn't support alpha channel in the embedded png. Would try extracting the raster image first, and save a copy of it with gimp that has no alpha channel and use that instead of the or...

The file works perfectly here on win64bit Inkscape 0.92.2 -maybe an update will fix the issue?
This page offers a download link for 0.92.1 on linux.

Re: Inskape modifying path while doing path > division

Coming from the IRC, precision is at the maximum. Using a "sans-serif font" "e" with a 32 size in the example above. (Guessing Greg is not on windows). I remember there was a similar topic related to an inkscape bug but I cannot find that nor can reproduce the issue on win 64bit ...

Ok, chiming in. So this is what to redraw: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-poSWLHU_W04/V12Y_3X_0MI/AAAAAAAAAZs/zn5dpDUVuDUfGsZwKFZHdbOmf7iOMuV9wCLcB/w1200-h630-p-k-no-nu/noveno_planeta.jpg Filters are *heavy* on the rendering. On top of that, due to svg's nature they are rendered live with no cache. They...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

So if I understood the concepts correctly: I can use the square-grid - for maximum future manipulation ability. And things like: dasharray, clones, pattern \ shape around path -- for shapes\patterns - which can be general and random\arbitrary - for my needs. And they will be lighter\smaller. Did I ...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

Keep an eye to the bottom indication line. If a path is selected, the number of nodes is displayed. Like "Path 4 nodes in Layer 1. Click selection to toggle scale/rotation handles". Paintings can vary alot in style and technique. Regular printers can't print with white ink so probably it's...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

Shapes are drawn with the rectangle and the ellipse tool. If you perform a boolean operation on them (like intersecting one with another) the result will be a path. Inkscape uses paths mostly, which are cubic Bézier curves. Here is a primer on Bézier curves . That means circles cannot be represented...

Re: Is there a list of the kinds of objects in SVG, and their complexity?

Complexity? What would that be. Here we had a challenge on drawing the same image with the smallest possible size -with very similar rendering but different underlying struture. There are many ways of doing so, and the smallest ones are practically uneditable and unusable for like vinyl cutting. In ...

https://openclipart.org/download/293936/honk19.svg Trying to insert an audio to this one. So far could make this one work, but have to remake the audio file to fit with the animation. Have it in mp3 but somehow after converting it base64 it doesn't get "rendered" by the browser.

Re: animated svg-s

Yes, probably doable . Will you try remixing it? Having a hard time figuring out what works and what doesn't myself. Can look at existing svg codes, extract the related part, paste it into the new drawing yet still -it just hardly works. Instead, used the existing animated files and wiped literally ...

Using motionpath this time: https://openclipart.org/download/293899/bike-anim11.svg https://openclipart.org/download/293902/vibr1.svg -Too bad these are 2400 px/2400 px and the forum cuts them off? Tried scaling them down while put inside a group however then the animation doesn't work.

Just 7 keys. Used linear interpolation and tweaked the result to look better.
Image.

The rest in the animation is duplicates of the two ends so there is a still part.

Bumping this.
Maybe will also add some tags for the future because that's the essence of alot of gradient fill problems.

Did it help or am I just writing for my own amusement?
