Re: Interpolation Extension Bug ?

TBH, after all this, im not even sure what the Interpolation Extension is good for. I use it for making laurels I've done that as well and it works, no doubt. Lets say i need 10 squares with 8 nodes each, going from desaturated orange to sky blue and i dont want any complicated math (tiled clones *...

Re: Interpolation Extension Bug ?

The 'open path' part is a known bug, I think. Just tested with master, it's even worse there - I get each node duplicated PLUS an open path. Well, this is kind of comforting. I would suggest that you use as few nodes to start with, use just 4 nodes. Also instead of starting with a square object, wh...

Re: Interpolation Extension Bug ?

I don't know if I'd call it a bug... It's not cloning. I dont know what exactly happens when the Interpolation is calculated, but why would it modify two identical paths, when its clear that only the colour is the difference ? Thats like, not calling it a bug when Gaussian Blur suddenly turns the c...

Interpolation Extension Bug ?

I have a square, converted to a path. I add 4 nodes with the Node Tool rubberband selected and hitting the plus in the toolbar, so i end up with an 8 node square. My original square is black, i duplicate and make it white. Now i want a gradient of grays so i use the Interpolation Extension, with the...

Re: Interpolation Problem

But anyway, probably the same object copied with different stroke widths This is what i did, but its a lot of unintuitive math and the dashes behave weirdly in a non functional way, so no dotted decorational lines. We'll have to wait for Jabier's Dashes LPE for that.... :( Wasnt there supposed to b...

Interpolation Problem (Offset Path)

Im trying to make a logo similar in style to this: https://www.shutterstock.com/de/image-vector/vintage-retro-promotion-vector-label-sunbeam-258161909 I have grown the basic shape. Now i want the intermediate paths for the dotted lines decoration. When i try to do this with an interpolation, its all...

Updated reply: The embedded video doesnt work for me, but i was able to download. I dont know what is happening with your workflow and it is indeed odd, but here is what you can try instead. Its the same as using the Bezier or Pencil Tool, but without the clipboard functionality, which is a shortcut...

Re: stroke to path cuts the inside

Despite what his channel appears, Nicks knowledge is not as great as his fanbase thinks. In fact his workflow is quite often a bit amateurish. Keep that in mind when learning from his videos. But then again we have Brynn who can write a full essay on why she doesnt know about a video she hasnt watch...

Re: filters in progress

This is all over my head, but when you make a duplicate of the diagonal stripes gradient, flip it and set the mode to 'Difference', then apply a Blur and some sort of Levels/Curves, you will get dots, right.

Re: filters in progress

Is it possible to use this template with other patterns ?

It seems to me, the stripes are made of a gradient.

What about the classic halftone dot pattern ?

Its the effect im looking for, however, with the Alternate Option i cant control the width of the gaps between the dots anymore.....

EDIT:
On a second thought, that can be remedied with a No-Fill object to control the size of the bounding box.

Cool !

Diagonal Halftone

Im playing around with halftones. Making a simple halftone by tracing a gradient is easy, but i want the halftone at an angle. In this case 45°. In theory that requires a Shift Y of 50% per Column, however it compromises the Trace and half of my halftone descends into nothingness. Any ideas how to f...

Re: Can Inksape deal with more than 10,000 objects?

There's a little bit of info about Inkscape vs AI here, mainly 6.1 and maybe something in 6.3: https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#inkscape-and-other-programs In the manual is some info about tools, terminology, and techniques to accomplish similar goals, to help people transitioning from AI to Inks...

Re: Can Inksape deal with more than 10,000 objects?

Sidebar: Inkscape works very differently from Illustrator and other vector editors... it is actually natively writing an SVG text file which creates limitations that the proprietary formats used in Ai (and others) won't have. Im curious to understand the difference between what AI and svg does. Do ...

I can say with confidence that using the default.svg document above (placed in the user profile templates) should resolve the issue. Re: Units

When you said "Stroke width tab" I guess you mean Object menu > Fill and Stroke > Stroke Style tab. That's where you can find the width setting. The part that's confusing, is that if nothing is selected, those options and fields are grayed out. Yes, that what i mean. The units may be gray...
