Re: Hi Everyone I am New Here.

I ban lots of one post 'newbies'. The number of Kitchen and siding sellers who are also newbies to this forum and just want to say hello are surprising. The 'personal female assistant' was probably not a bot but ... gone anyway. Be strong. The problem ...

Re: Maestral and other winds...

Hi, guys! Along with festive days, here`s something new from my kitchen. These are the ink drawings evolved into animations. So, from the initial sketch, trough ink, vectors, gifs and finally with some sound - here they are animated: https://p-ams1.pcloud.com/DLZytTS3kZoWAvikZfcplZZXYVx67Z3VZZxT5ZXZaKLZh7ZZZlMghrItatBu38cI799gwYhCGoH9k/th-2491307953-610x250.png ...

... to prevent spambots for quite some time now. Have to say it's not a tool to begin with for a starter. But at least we don't have countless kitchen design offers to deal with.

... posts of these spamBots (triangle with "!") results in their automatic exclusion. I noticed that as well and have reported the "kitchen" posts. I get a message that it's reported already (which means there are at least two reports) but the message persists. RGDS Ragnar

Re: Permanently block posts containing keyword in subject li

Filtering spam via "kitchen" keyword can be problematic. Consider the following example thread titles that have a good chance of being legitimate: "My first drawing: a kitchen knife" "Help with highlights -- kitchen ...

Permanently block posts containing keyword in subject line.

Hi. After moderation of first post stopped I have not failed to notice the number of spam posts containing "Kitchen" in the headline. Any way to set up a permanent rule to block those automatically? Guess if I would ever use the mentioned companies for my future kitchen ...

Why not but then you should grant moderation rights to more users IMHO. Too much spam for kitchen announcements for me. In a way, everyone is a moderator. If you are seeing spam, it's either because you are the first of 2 people to see it, or nobody before you bothered ...

Re: Processor Cores

XAV - ah, you have such a good way with words! (the page analogy, the kitchen analogy, etc), and esp with comics (are you sure you're a software 'developer'? LOL - kidding of course). Hard to believe it's your WORK computer that is that old, geez. Has anyone ...

Understanding computers - a cookery analogy

... struggle on machines with low amounts of memory? I've found that one of the best analogies for explaining the workings of a computer is that of a kitchen (for the hardware), and recipes (for the software). They're concepts that everyone is familiar with, and generally map quite well to the bits ...

Re: Processor Cores

... often a lot more understandable with a cookery analogy. So... Processor core = Oven. Cache memory = Work surface. RAM = Cupboards/fridge in the kitchen. Hard Drive = Larder, fridge, freezer or cupboard in the utility room. A processor with more cores is like having multiple ovens - you can cook ...

I'm thinking that might better be approached using photos of rooms. You could much more conceivabley make a collection of photos ...

Re: Is the forum getting more spam advertising?

The recent household appliance spam is a little entertaining. I mean, I totally wandered onto the Inkscape forums to research kitchen sinks. :) I think a riddle or picture CAPTCHA is a good idea; unless the spammers really are recent un-employees pushing pocket spam on their blackberrys ...
