Re: Font can be selected, but isn't applied

Unfortunately, I am as well not too familiar with FontForge and all its details and options, but what simply worked for me was 1) load Font 2) Ignore all warnings 3) Menubar | Encoding | Force Encoding | ISO 10646-1 (Unicode,Full) 4) Menubar | File | Make the font (or Ctrl+Shift+G) and select TrueTy...

Re: Font can be selected, but isn't applied

What Version of Inkscape do you use? 0.92.0 ? I observe similar behaviour on Win7/64 wíth Inkscape 0.91, but not with Win7/64 Inkscape 0.92.0 Edit: The Symbol Font where I observed the similar thing is Windows Latin (ANSI)-enconded. If I create a copy of that font and load it into FontForge (https:/...

50% CPU usage after Inkscape command line use

I have a strange observation when using the command line e.g. for converting SVG to PNG. If I call inkscape -z -f MyFile.svg -e MyFile.png I always get the message Background RRGGBBAA: ffffff00 Area 0:0:793.701:1122.52 exported to 794 x 1123 pixels (96 dpi) Bitmap saved as: MyFile.png and the desire...

Welcome, @srynoname, to the forum, ad 1) If the "Tools Controls Bar" is not already visible, select: Menubar | View | Show/Hide | Tool Controls Bar The coordinates of the selected point should be given in the X and Y field. ad 2) I assume you are talking about Bezier-Curves (Shift+F6). Wel...

You're welcome! Just as a general suggestion... You might want to prepend [solved] to the title of your first post. [solved] "Non-editable" text from PS import?

After import of a Postscript file you e.g. get some text in your SVG. However, if you want to edit this text (F8), the behaviour is not like "normal" text. You can delete characters but the following characters do not move forward. And if you want to insert a new character you cannot place...

Re: How to add an EPS Preview with Inkscape?

Thanks, Moini, for the hint to ImageMagick. I installed and tried it. I don't know why they call an EPS with Preview EPT? This actually would require an unnecessary renaming later. Anyway, it looks like it's adding something like a preview at least the file get's bigger. However, this ImageMagick-&q...

How to add an EPS Preview with Inkscape?

With inkscape you can nicely convert or export to EPS with command line. inkscape -z -f "Input.ps" -E "Output.eps" Is there any way to include a pixelated preview with Inkscape? The options I thought of, however, are either not practical or not working: 1) using GSview (do it man...

Re: Convert PDF to SVG by command line

Your result looks like Inkscape does not find the proper font and replaces it with some other font. The formula looks to me like it's from LaTeX which uses a Type 1 Font. So, I am just guessing that Inkscape does not know to handle such Type 1 Fonts. If you type your formula e.g. with LibreOffice Fo...

How to get command line operations (--verb) to work without GUI (option -z)?

For many things, e.g. like batch processing of SVG files (cropping, resizing, ... ) you don't want to open the GUI, which is extremely slow and actually not necessary. Obviously, --verb options do not work together with -z option (surpressing GUI). There has been a bug report more than 5 years ago (...

Hmm, pretty strange... As I said with PDF it works: inkscape.exe -z -f "DoReMi.pdf" -l "DoReMi.svg" with PS it doesn't work: inkscape.exe -z -f "DoReMi.ps" -l "DoReMi.svg" However, what I found now the following with PS works: inkscape -z -f "DoReMi.ps&qu...

Re: Why does a PS-File not open via command line?

As I said, importing the same PS with the GUI is no problem.
It just doesn't work with the command line.

That's what I get:
Inkscape_PS-CmdLine-Import_Error1.png
Inkscape_PS-CmdLine-Import_Error1.png (4.8 KiB) Viewed 1095 times

Inkscape_PS-CmdLine-Import_Error2.png

Why does a PS-File not open via command line?

You can convert a PDF via Inkscape to SVG via the following code: inkscape.exe -z -f "Input.pdf" -l "Output.svg" With the GUI you can also open a PS file and save it as SVG. No Problem! Why does the command line option not work for PS-Files? inkscape.exe -z -f "Input.ps"...

How to import into Inkscape via STDIN?

Hi, is it possible to get input into Inkscape via STDIN from a command line? More precise: Inkscape seems to be able to import Postscript files. Great! I want to redirect a printer output via Windows command line directly to Inkscape and save it as SVG and then modify it further. This can basically ...

Re: EPS Doesn't Open In Acrobat Reader

As far as I know, AcrobatReader is not made for reading EPS. At least my AcrobatReader XI on Win7 is also not capable of opening EPS.
Have you tried GSView instead?
http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/gsview/get50.htm
If GSView cannot read it then there might be someting wrong with your EPS.

Re: How to remove clipping with command line?

Hi @v1nce, sorry, it's NOT a browser issue. It's my fault. It's simply because you do not have the necessary font on your disk. I did not think of it because on my computer it's of course displayed fine because I have this music font. SVGs are obviously not like PDFs which can have embedded s...

Re: How to remove clipping with command line?

Well, with 3rd party I meant Perl (besides me and Inkscape) ;-). It's good to have a workaround unless you can wait until it is fixed the way it is expected to work. But sometimes this will not happen within years. And often, if you go for a workaround you need another additional workaround and so o...

Re: How to remove clipping with command line?

Well, the original idea was/is to bring music notes in *vector format*(!) into a word processing program, i.e. LibreOffice Writer. The original question was: which format? EPS does not work anymore since LO Writer 4.0, PDF could not and still cannot be imported. So, the only format seems to be SVG. ...
