What operating system: Windows - Linux - Unix - OSX ?

Writing batch files is relatively easy but you have to have a basic knowledge of how to use the command line.

Re: File is not oppening at all

Hi.

When you say "does not open" what's the symptoms?
If you do a "select all" after the opening what do you get on the status line at the bottom of your Inkscape screen?
If you get anything other than "No objects selected... " your file has loaded.

Hi.

Which version of Inkscape do you use?
The ellipse shows without problems in my Inkscape (Inkscape 0.91 r13725) and also in all the browsers I use.

Re: Install fails on Windows 8.1

Hi. Installed the extension without any errors. Do you have Inkscape installed in the C:\Program Files (X86)\Inkscape directory? When running the install program you have to specify where your Inkscape install directory is. By the way, I moved the extension from the program_install\share\extensions ...

Re: Changing UI Size for a 4k monitor

Hi In my setup, 1:1 refers to the Inkscape:Screen-pixel ratio. The zoom-correction is the value needed in the zoom control to display Inkscape:IRL ratio. Might be worth explaining abbreviations when used for the first time like I have done for DPI (Dots Per Inch) - for a lot of the inkscape users En...

Re: Changing UI Size for a 4k monitor

Hi. I have been using Inkscape on a 4K laptop for a while without "big" problems, only thing that does not scale properly is the cursors used for drawing etc, hopefully this will be fixed in later versions of Inkscape. To get the icons to a "usable" size go to preferences - Inter...

Re: Help with Creating Amp Faceplate

Hi. The scale generatior is creating new objects - it is not modifying existing ones like your ellipse. If you press apply and you don't see any result try zooming out as the extension might have placed the scale outside the viewable area. To see the whole drawing and all objects - press F1 to get i...

Hi. There are an extension for doing what you want; Scale Generator Chime back if you need help installing the extension or assistance using it. Sure about the scale going from 1 to 10? Normally for a 240°potmeter the scale goes from 0 to 10 where zero is muted and 10 is max. https://www.dropbox.com...

Hi. Anyone using the L-system extension? Have "played" with Inkscape L-system, it does a good job at it, however for large images or high level L-systems the extension is limited by the size of command line arguments (as the extension passes data back to inkscape on the command line) Examp...

Re: How to stop Fractalize Removing Last Line of a Shape

Hi. Nice find! You have probably "stumbled upon" a bug or "undocumented feature". The original developer of the fractalize extension likely never tested the code on closed paths as he most likely "needed" the extension to work for open paths. You have a few open options...

Hi

Try this;

Select all -( Ctrl A )
Perform a Path - Union ( Ctrl + ) - Plus on numpad.
Perform a Path - Break Apart ( Shift Ctrl K )

All your "Five Node Objects" or objects with overlapping nodes will now have the "excess nodes removed".

Re: How to select an item that isn't on any layer?

Hi. Can you post an example file? If an object is not "selectable" it's normally because it belongs to a group or have a lower z-value than another objject on top of it. Try selecting all (Ctrl - A) and watch the status line at the bottom of the Inkscape window. It will tell you what's sel...
