Re: Ghostpeople

Still, blender does things on a much more effective way. They have a gui fully adjustable, have a fundation and paid developers, and, a community forum working scales larger. Speed modeling, weekend challenge, sketchbook, volunteer work, team projects and quality work in the gallery. Worth a check.

Re: Ghostpeople

In my humble opinion that's the result of being focused on answering the most basic questions.

General discussion, programming would need developers participating, probably the "show it off" section needs more posts instead.

Re: Ghostpeople

That's what you get when I'm not around for a 12 hour period. Not good. Spammers are humanoid, "they" post less in the weekend. They post less from 22 pm to 6 pm (gmt+1) My guess is that we get most of the spam from the exact same few people, who always register from different ip adresses....

Re: CMYK Missing Topic

Can't recall.
Checking back some logs. Was that around Mon Jul 20, 2015?

Edit: Interesting. In the moderator logs there are only two actions listed from that topic of two members deleting their own posts back in Sat Apr 25, 2015.

Wow. That sounds horrible. Each day spammers take at least an hour of your life? There must be a far better way.

Just reached a new record time in deleting a post and banning a spammer -done in the same minute of the original post. What an achievement.

Re: can't register? or can't log in?

Yes, that read unread/unanswered/active topics were the most handy sections of them all. Guess this is a temporary change, as now there are no links, and as unhallowed as it is, there are no ads yet. On banning, one click ban seems gone. Now, it takes two extra steps, and most importantly by banning...

Re: announcing a new Inkscape website!

All right, if anyone haven't noticed the legend (of the global moderators) at the bottom of the board index, now it is my possibility (too) to manage the forum a bit. Speaking of recent activity, I'm feeling that moving some of the posts here, splitting them from their original topic is more than we...

Re: Grouping objects from imported files

Saw the link to that page by Suv on the live chat, on the exact same problem. As far as I could understand it's not official/haven't been tested enough/needs finetuning/no warranty, but exists. Dates back three years ago, and needed some patches from the start, but here it is: https://github.com/cw/...

Re: Grouping objects from imported files

Hi. Groups are the basic way of organising svg-s. Most probably the source files you use have the unwanted structure, coming from the other programs. I remember once I helped here with a file from matlab (not sure, couldn't look it up) where a smooth gradient was made from rectangles, each grouped w...

Re: Pattern won't bend alongside pathway

Hi.

The pattern is registered on a horizontal axis, from left to righ it will be bent from start to end.

You may also try the pattern along path live path effect, which can be more handy for the task -like, you can adjust the width of the pattern later on.

Group the separate objects you want to change, select the mentioned extension, which brings up the following panel: https://lwn.net/images/2015/02-inkscape-interpolate.png And set the fields alike: attribute to interpolate: other other attribute: stroke-width other attribute type: float number apply...

Re: Questions about shapes and axes

Hi there, The scales should be the same, probably it's related to your system and/or screen settings. For the pentagon, if you click with the mouse, and drag the cursor up vertically while holding Ctrl with the * tool, the bottom edge will be horizontal. For the triangle, I think it is possible to d...

Re: Interpolation of styles on hand-made lines

Try the interpolate attribute in group option.
Needs to group all the paths together first.

With settings of
other attribute, stroke width,
float numbers, style and different px values for start and end.

Re: Fill shape after union

Hi. After you have the two separate arcs, combine them together and connect unconnected nodes with the node tool. Or if you want to go on from the union, unconnect nodes with the straight path segments and connect them in a different order with the node tool. http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/...
