Even on a relatively new computer, it takes these pages with filters a while to load - maybe 30 sec to a minute.

Re: Bezier lines inconsistent width (Inkscape 0.92.1 r15371)

Have you noticed what happened to cause the width to change? Or did you notice when it happened? My best guess is that you inadvertently have an LPE applied to the paths. But it would be better if you can identify what happens which causes the width to change, and share an SVG file which displays th...

Re: Forming a gradient around an object

Just had another thought worth mentioning. For the screenshot you showed, the first one with the single radial gradient. It is possible to move the center of the gradient. It would not conform to the shapes -- it will always be either circular or elliptical. But you could at least move the center. S...

Re: Forming a gradient around an object

I know, I only just now finished it. I'm not very good at this (or fast), but there's only one way to get better (practice x 3) (or 30 !). Ok, so I didn't finish the whole thing, because it will be a time intensive project. But this is really the only way I can think how to do this. https://inkscape...

Re: Forming a gradient around an object

For the gradient mesh, you can move those nodes around. They don't have to stay in the rectangular grid. Also, on the control bar, you can choose a conical mesh. I would probably use the rectangular mesh, and move some of the nodes around, because the conical mesh confuses me (if you drag those node...

I can't help Shoansa's question. But for flamingolady, some questions. (Aside from not understanding why you installed it more than once) I don't understand how it happens that you can have the same font installed twice. Whenever I try to install a font which is already installed, Windows tells me I...

Re: seeking 3d drawing program - off topic - but don't know where else to ask

Oh, that sounds very interesting! Do you have a photo, or a link to a photo? By "sheets of glass", I get the mental picture of something huge. But maybe it's smaller. Is it sort of like a mosaic, with many, many, many very small, flat pieces of glass, except in 3d? I guess I can only speak...

Re: recommendations for tablet?

What you've described previously is a graphics tablet. That is different from an ipad type of tablet. Although these days, I suppose it's possible there are some sort of hybrids which have both. But I would search for "graphics tablet", to make sure I was looking at the right kind of produ...

Operating system?

Nothing shows in my status bar either, when I click Print in Inkscape. Has the printer been turned on yet, at this point? I don't even have a printer connected, so I can't test any further than this. But the Inkscape version and os will help others help you.

I'll have to try and remember this topic, because it seems like I've seen several messages about people having trouble getting InkCut to work. I've seen a couple of people give up and buy TuxPlot. I wonder why you got it to work on your machine, but others can't get it working? Did you initially get...

Re: Need your help or direction regarding my inability to do a Boolean (Difference) operation on the attatched file

I had to Ungroup 4 times before I got rid of all the groups. (Watch the status bar with each click of Ungroup, to find out when there are no more groups.) This causes the paths which form the letters to be individual letters. So you will need to take another few steps. If you do it this way, you wil...

Re: Creating a second set of tiled clones deletes the first set?

Subsequent testing reveals that the first array is deleted whenever the same parent is used to make another array - not just when the 2nd array immediately follows the first. Now I''ve made a few arrays with a few different parent objects, after the first array with the first object. When I go back ...

Well I did warn that I could be wrong. Actually I thought computers worked in ones and zeroes. All I know is that the Paint Bucket tool is not capable of precisely filling closed spaces. Someone else will have to explain technically how it works, if that's what you're asking. Or you could search the...

Re: Inkscape 0.46-0.48 won't vector cut on ULS Laser

Hi Andy, No, the units issue is particular to 0.92.x So if this is the same problem which existed in 0.46 to 0.48, it would not be relevant. I wasn't sure from your previous post (in large part probably because I scarcely understand development and coding language). Since your problem is the same as...

I haven't heard of any cutter which requires a zero stroke width. I've heard of some that require extremely narrow width, but not zero. Just out of curiousity, what kind of laser cutter is it?

Re: Creating a second set of tiled clones deletes the first set?

I see this too, 0.92.2, 64-bit 7z package, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Has anyone researched this? I mean, if the 2nd click removes the results of the first click, what is the Remove button for? It would seem to be inappropriate behavior. Although having taken some time to test, it seems to be happening a...

Still waiting. Current stable version is 0.92.2.

There is a development version (considered experimental) but I don't know if this feature is in it yet. Moini got a screenshot, so maybe it is?

Re: Fill bounded area not doing a good job

I could be wrong about this, but I don't think Inkscape is doing any math for the Paint Bucket tool (unless maybe you use a Grow/Shrink value). I think it looks at the color of pixels. Well, you know, it doesn't really "look" with eyes...maybe it scans the pixels or something. Using the ba...

Hah, this one was so old, we can't even see the image in the op anymore! As TD said, selecting an object highlights it in both the Objects dialog and XML Editor. And it's vice versa, as well! But reading the op, I wonder if they might have been looking for Edit menu > Find/Replace? It allows you to ...

Ok, here's the video https://inkscapecommunity.com/jd/vids/dock.mp4 I can't explain why, and I don't know if there's a bug in here somewhere. But if there's a dialog which is not showing, you have to fix the one that is showing. The important part is to start with the mouse in the left area of the t...

Re: How to view multiple tool windows at the same time?

I have a solution that will allow you to scroll them within the docking area. But you can't make the dialogs longer, as you can if they are the only one open.

It's a little hard to describe. I'll make a video. Be back shortly.
