Re: Clip, Set, strange effect after move/ctrl-x/node-move.

Hhm, I think I'll need to see the SVG file. Could you share either the same file as you showed above, or one like it? The only thing I can think at the moment, is that you might have the clipping path option enabled, and you accidentally dragged the clipping path, instead of the object's path. Did y...

Re: Can someone develop an app for me?

Your link hasn't been deleted. But it doesn't work. I'm not sure why you think Inkscape developers could do this for you. It sounds like you're dealing with raster images, while Inkscape is a vector graphics editor. I don't quite follow exactly what you need, or why the process you described takes a...

Re: Preview mode?

I'm not familiar with that program. So I can't guess what you need. What is it that you either want to see or don't want to see, that you don't already see on the canvas? Inkscape has View menu > Display Mode, where there are options for viewing everything except filters, or Outline Mode which only ...

Re: Let lines simultaneously been drawn

Yes, it sounds like you need animation. Here's an overview of different ways to use images made in Inkscape, to create animation: https://inkscape.org/en/learn/animation/ Many ways! But Inkscape doesn't have animation by itself. Actually as I think about it more, I'm not sure what kind of approach t...

That's what I thought too. But after he (or she) explained the problem for the 2nd time (rather than report the results of trying our suggestions, for example, or asking follow-up questions) I started thinking maybe I didn't understand the question. So I thought I'd try throwing out some extra info,...

Re: No-Brainer Feature Request: Variable-Width X/Y/W/H Boxes

Oh, you're talking about the fact that you can only see, typically, 3 digits on the left of the decimal point and 2 on the right, even though there may be any number of digits. Right? I guess it would not take up much space if those fields can automatically expand to hold whatever value they contain...

Re: Silhouette for Bridging pieces Plasma

We must be missing the point. I must be missing the point. Let me try some screenshots, for clarity. Here, I've removed the fill, and made the paths wider, just so we can see them. And I've added some fill color, so I can ask my questions clearly. Is the part I colored yellow, the part that gets cu...

Re: Loss of image detail when tracing.

Even with the most optimal settings, if the original raster image is a photo, there's a good chance the trace will not have as much detail. Trace Bitmap is just not designed to perfectly reproduce any photo. As far as I understand, Adobe Illustrator has some kind of trace engine which gives phenomen...

Re: Is there a way i can create (2D) realistic elevator buttons in Inkscape?

I think I posted a tutorial in this forum....somewhere....years and years ago. You could try searching the forum. I have a couple of tutorials for Engraved Text and Embossed Text. It's a very similar concept for buttons which appear to be pressed or not pressed. It's just that the buttons would look...

Re: Silhouette for Bridging pieces Plasma

I'm not sure if I understand your question. But you can make the offset larger or smaller amount. If you use Dynamic Offset, you can drag the offset manually, so you can see when it's the right amount. Or you can change the standard amount of the "steps" if that would work better. Inkscape...

Re: [solved] can't import more after importing 20 images (linked not embedded)

The only potential problem I see with that solution, is a potential reduction in quality of the original raster image. If you don't see a change in the quality, that's awesome! I would expect a slight blurriness. But if they started out very high quality, it might not be noticable. One thing that wo...

Hhm, well the original authors of those gcodetools extensions appear not to be available for support (for a few years now). If you double-click on a guide, a small dialog opens which allows you to position it precisely (or relatively, if you prefer that). Or else, the guides are snappable, so you can snap them to something. And they can also be snap targets, where you can snap other things to them. Here's the manual info...

The only thing I could say, before seeing the file, is to check for things like filters, gradients (with transparency) or other transparency in the file. With the Selection tool enabled, you can press the Tab key, and select the first object in the file. Then look at the status bar to find out what ...

You could make a feature request, for whatever extension you're using. Feature requests are handled like bug reports, here: https://launchpad.net/inkscape

Re: [Solved] Closing a resolved post

There's actually no requirement that posts are marked as solved or closed. And marking them solved doesn't prevent anyone from posting in them again. I see such topics getting posted in for long after they are marked as solved, all the time. So personally, I don't find it helpful to have them marked...

Re: Make area transparent in SVG

The Objects dialog does identify imported raster images. They are indicated by "image123". (If you have a file where an imported image is not indicated in Objects dialog, it might be a bug.) For myself, the checkerboard background interferes with ability to see details. So I just rely on m...
