Re: Export to PNG with custom color palette

Oh, I see. I never thought of it like that. I thought it was to allow users to draw without it, something like a pixel editor, maybe.

Well I wonder if a basic screenshot tool would "see" it? Testing....

Windows' Snipping Tool "sees" it.

Re: join lines at overlapping nodes

msdobrescu, the problem is the closed path. The Inkscape feature which creates the Triangle In doesn't like closed paths (as druban said).

In my experience, if you break the path, it should work properly. (Select a node, then Break Path at Selected Nodes button, on Node tool control bar.)

Re: join lines at overlapping nodes

druban, are you saying that if you use a custom triangle (from clipboard), a closed path will work? Hhmm....I just tried both ways. I got different results, where one result was "invisible" and the other gave me a couple of triangles. But neither really worked. This is with 0.92.3. However...

Re: Installed Fonts not found in Inkscape 0.92.3

I guess it's not surprising to see this "strangeness" (lunacy) with Windows 10. Strictly my opinion. Hello if you open the windows/fonts folder and select view to look at the files "small icon "list" or "details", you can see there are two (or more even?) places wh...

Re: Export to PNG with custom color palette

One might think that with AA turned off for onscreen display at least "make a bitmap copy" might produce an aliased image, capturing directly from the draw buffer, but that is surprisingly not so. That is very surprising. What's the point of being able to disable it, if you can't export a...

Re: join lines at overlapping nodes

Your original message, and another message you posted in a different topic, gives me the idea you might be expecting Inkscape to work like a CAD program. Apparently in CAD programs, you instruct the program to draw a line, so long, and click "draw it". (Well, something like that, from what...

Re: Installed Fonts not found in Inkscape 0.92.3

Just trying to follow these instructions on Windows 7, since I've never heard them before (and I don't have Windows 10). I don't seem to have a Windows button in my Start menu. Maybe Windows 7 just doesn't have it?

What is a PowerShell? Why does it show all the fonts, but Explorer doesn't?

Re: Saving eps file

Well there were several curious items in your original question. On top of the others already mentioned, I'm curious why you want to make the file larger. Most people want to make their files smaller. You could put the watermark back, and hide it on a separate layer, or make it completely transparen...

For your original question, you would want to use Clipping rather than Masking.

Re: Export to PNG with custom color palette

It is possible to disable antialiasing in Inkscape. I'm not sure at what stage of the game you need to disable it - whether you should disable it before you draw the image, or only before you export it. But you can experiment. Document Properties > Page tab, at the bottom. Although.... While disabli...

Re: Trying to remove Background

I'm afraid you'll need to give us a lot more info. The easiest way would be the share the SVG file with us. The hard way is for us to ask you a lot of questions, which may or may not lead to a solution. How are you trying to remove the background? Exactly what steps are you taking? Which tools? Spel...

Re: Creating modular character sprites from one image

From reading your message, I'm not sure if you realize the difference between raster and vector images. Inkscape is a vector editor, so to do almost anything with that image, it would need to be converted to vector....unless you already have a vector version of it? Parts of it does look vectorish. I...

Clipping would be more appropriate, for this situation. Although I don't know if clipping would have the same problem as masking.

If you use Document Properties, it resizes to the drawing, even if the drawing is not selected. But apparently the Edit menu item requires it to be selected.

Re: Text based logo creation

Another option, rather than re-drawing the image using the tools and features which TD suggested, would be to use the Pen/Bezier tool and trace over the raster image. It would take a little less of a learning curve. If your goal is to learn Inkscape, TD's route would be more fruitful. If your goal i...

Re: Saving svg image, not svg page

You can't have an image without a page - at least in Inkscape. But I can make a couple of guesses about what you want. First, I'm thinking you might be wanting the page size to be the same as your image size. For that, File menu > Document Properties > Page tab. About halfway down, Resize page to co...

Bug Migration Game

Hi Friends, In news from the development side of the Inkscape project, developers are moving to a new bug tracker. It seems there is no real automated way to move the bugs from one tracking system to another. So they have made a game out of it, with prizes and everything. Probably not very many foru...

Re: (Inkscape 0.92.4) Why don't my downloaded fonts show?

I don't know about that. I don't have Windows 10. On Windows 7, there's just an install button. There's no such thing as "install as admin" and I'm not sure why Windows 10 would have it. If it does, then great. But I would need someone who has seen the menu to say for sure, before I start ...

Re: (Inkscape 0.92.4) Why don't my downloaded fonts show?

I'm not convinced yet that there is some other way to make fonts available in Inkscape, except to install for other users. But that option isn't available unless there is more than one user on the computer. As I said, I hope there is. But I haven't seen it confirmed yet. While I've seen a few report...

She'll need to be able to install it herself. As a Windows user, I would not be able to help someone install Inkscape on a Mac.
