"cycle" = "circle"?? Draw Circle shape Path menu > Object to Path Switch to Node tool Select one node Break path at selected node (on the control bar, or find key shortcut via Help menu) This makes 2 end nodes on top of each other, but not connected. If they should not be on top ...

Re: How to change white mouse cursor to something visible?

The Inkscape pointer should be different for each tool. (I can't make you a screenshot, because mine doesn't capture the mouse or pointer.) Do you see the all-white arrow pointer for every tool? If we can't solve the pointer issue, you could change the canvas background to any color you want. Docume...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

Fyi, another new embroidery extension is apparently under development. You can follow the discussion in this mailing list archive thread: https://sourceforge.net/p/inkscape/mailman/message/34888776/ I don't know the particulars about it, but you might want to communicate with the author, and potenti...

Re: Inkscape Right to Left Text

Well, I don't know that it's not available on any Windows, or if it's only me (or possibly me and the op). I do have 0.92.2, 64-bit, which is the current stable version. Not sure what you mean by "the latest 0.92.x (stable branch) build for Windows, 64bit". Is there a stable branch of the ...

Re: using free form line to make curved image

Your video doesn't play for me.

The only thing I could suggest (until I can see the video, and maybe SVG file would help too) would be to double check the Pencil control bar, that you have everything right. It sounds like you might not have the Shape set right. But impossible to guess.

Re: Inkscape Right to Left Text

I don't have the right to left option either. When I click that arrow, only Orientation is there (Auto, Upright, Sideways). No Direction submenu. (I'm on Windows.) What kind of update do you mean, Moini, which will break extensions? Windows updates? Edit And also, how is the right to left option an ...

Re: Stroke not working on Group object

I don't think it's a bug, that you can't change the stroke width of a group. The ability to change the stroke width on a group was lost....I want to say starting with 0.48. Maybe 0.47? It annoys me greatly. There was some explanation for the change at the time, although I don't remember what it was....

Re: Voronoi Diagram - ERROR:root:code blah blah blah...

From what little I understand, MS has said that MSI is now the preferred type. But since I always seem to run into trouble when some new thing comes out, I usually wait some time, for any problems to get ironed out, before I go ahead and use and accept the new thing. So I've been stubbornly sticking...

Re: Is it possible to set the resolution in a template?

It's just very annoying when people use Inkscape for CNC projects and for some reason the bitmap resolution of inkscape causes scaling issues. I'm not sure how bitmap resolution can cause a problem for CNC, because CNC uses the vector paths. Not unless you mean when the raster image is imported. Ma...

Re: Uninstalled Font still usable in Inkscape

Brynn - here's an excerpt from the FF manual, thought you'd be interested: Non-Integral Coordinates In TrueType fonts all coordinates must be on integral coordinates. When FontForge generates your font it will round any non-integral coordinates -- sometimes this is fine, but it can also introduce s...

Re: stroke to path cuts the inside

It's common that we find there are many paths to the same goal, in Inkscape. As you learn more and more, and understand better and better, you will come to develop your own preferences, and things will be not be so confusing. I highly suggest using tutorials by different authors, so that you can lea...

Re: stroke to path cuts the inside

As far as I can tell, he does this Stroke to Path > Break Apart > Union routine, to an object which is behind the brown one. So you can't really see what's happening. When you do Break Apart it's normal for everything to turn black. And even after Union, it will still be black. It's only after that,...

Re: Uninstalled Font still usable in Inkscape

It can't be an integer, if is a half, quarter, etc. Integers are whole numbers, 1.0, 2.0, etc. There is the PixelSnap extension, which tries to move all nodes to the nearest whole number coordinates. But it doesn't seem to be successful, except in the very simplest of objects. So when the nodes are ...

Re: Uninstalled Font still usable in Inkscape

I'm trying to follow the last little bit of discussion. I keep getting stuck on "integral". I'm suspecting you mean "integer" (whole numbers). Is it the nodes that you want snapped to whole number coordinates, in Inkscape? If it's Inkscape, then snapping the nodes to a pixel grid...

Re: Crop Dropped Shadow

Doesn't it depend on how the drop shadow it created? The steps Moini gave will work if the drop shadow is made with the Drop Shadow filter. But if the drop shadow is made with a duplicate of the large circle, the steps are slightly different. In that case, these are the steps: select both (Shift+Cli...

If you could remember where you read that Inkscape has only one developer, I would be interested to try and correct that misunderstanding. If you can't remember, oh well. But if you can remember, would you post a link? I think that we often must tell users, when they report a bug, that it probably w...

When the Selection tool is enabled, the status bar tells you what kind of object is selected. Maybe it's a rectangle shape, or group or a clone, or some other thing?

Or if you could share the SVG file with us, we could say for sure.
