Re: tweaking paths with node handles

Thanks prkos http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/896/anblinkflowerlx9.gif Um, I haven't DL'd the development version of .46 for a few different reasons. I'm generally not computer savvy enough to handle non-stable apps of any kind. That's probably the biggest reason, that I'm waiting for the stable r...

Re: tweaking paths with node handles

Hi again :D Hey, I ran into a snag using the Duplicate Window feature. It does open a 2nd window, identical to the one I'm working on. But that's about all it is. It's the same size as a regular window, and for some reason, Inkscape windows can't be resized. So I can only be looking at one window at...

Re: duplicate path and align leaves gap ??

Prkos, the site I got it from a couple of years ago, Els Smilies Index, is now called Smiley Central, but is no longer Els' or safe to use. I couldn't say how it happened, but apparently now it is a purveyor of malware (some pretty serious stuff, from what I understand). I left out the exact URL bec...

http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/3443/peekcornervt7.gif Hi I'm fairly new at this myself....or maybe I could be called a perpetual newbie, lol. Re: increments on path

This is a rather crude idea, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. I'm wondering if you could use the Stroke Style dialog, and try a few of the dashed-line strokes until you find one that's closest to the increment sizes you want. Make the dashed line thicker (and/or a different color) than what you ...

tweaking paths with node handles

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/236/party0bcx6.gif Happy New Year, Friends! I'm working on an image's paths and having trouble making very small changes with the nodes' handles. I know I can zoom in close to do this. But there are times when I need to see more of a path than is visible when zoom...

Re: Link to this forum on inkscape.org?

Thought I'd reply with a link to my similar message a few months ago: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=251 It contains some slightly different, helpful info. Note the November 29, 2007 News item, maybe 3/4 down the Inkscape.org homepage . I know it's not the same as an entry in ...

rendering .svg in GIMP

Hi Friends, I was just about to post for help in a different Inkscapeforum forum, but I'm having trouble rendering a .svg file in GIMP, to enable me to save it as a .png, so I can upload it, so I can put examples of what I'm doing in that topic. I don't understand what the problem might be, because ...

All the work is done by volunteers so it's a matter of someone stepping up to the job. Aaahh, http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/1939/thumbsupdb3.gif I gotcha! MS Visual C++ Runtime Library Error

Hi again, I'm not sure if this is something the developers would want to see or know about, or if it's just MS "BS". And here I might add that I have no idea what a runtime library is, so I have no basis upon which to decide whether to contact Inkscape developers. I recently learned I'm us...

Resource availability?

Hi Friends, Will any of the various online resources, user guides, manuals, etc. ever be available either as part of a future version, or as a separate download? The brief research I've done, reveals only the Tamvjong (or something close to that) guide is available for purchase and download. Althoug...

Re: Why do Guide lines move slightly when image is zoomed?

Hhhm, interesting.... No, I had never double-clicked, or even single-clicked the Guide, once I had it in place. Didn't even know about it. But, in my few attempts since I just read your reply, it does look like double-clicking reveals the same position no matter how it's zoomed. And that really help...

[solved] Why do Guide lines move slightly when image is

Hi Friends, This may actually be better suited for the General forum, I'm not sure. But mods, please move it if necessary. I've been trying to recreate a black and white line drawing, so that it's perfectly symmetrical side-to-side (but not top to bottom). So I set a Guide line exactly in the center...

But I think I did it differently than you describe, aho. Knowing myself, I've probably done it the hard way, lol! I opened GIMP, cre...

Re: comments, issues w/Inkscape palettes, colors

No, I'm using XP Home. Cool! Dockable would definitely solve that problem. You can't see the fill and stroke for a group because groups do not have colour. They are mearly a container. But one can change the fill and stroke of a Group of objects. Well, only for all the objects together, as one, I gu...

comments, issues w/Inkscape palettes, colors

Hi Friends, This may not actually be the best place to post this, and if not, mods please feel free to move it. Ah http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/6357/annodyespz7.gif I've been playing around with tesselations, and currently working on a project with a whole bunch of small identical shapes. I'm also using it as an exercise in understanding colors and color codes. So I'm coloring many, many, many, identica...
