Re: Determining print size

Im glad you found a way to tweak the settings, there are things you can change manually that don't have UI yet, but it will surely come in the following versions. Color management is coming in the 0.46

If you have the skills you can help develop that part of Inkscape and speed it up a bit :D

Re: Old Style Lettering Gradients

Well it can export (save) in .eps, I know it would be so easy to crossedit files from other vector programs if it could edit .eps, but the other programs seem to support SVG more and more so that might be the solution. Basic color management will be introduced in 0.46 Can't wait till it reaches 1.0 ...

Re: Change the overall colour of an object

It happens to me too if I work in one field for a while and then switch to the other (vector/raster) but overall I've found that Inkscape is the most intuitive and easy to use of all editors I've tried, it takes the least time to get back in the saddle.

Re: Old Style Lettering Gradients

Gotta love Inkscape!

Some of those Illustrator/Photoshop tutorials can be quite an overkill, using complex filters, gadgets and methods to get not so complex results. My thinking process is much clearer now thanks to Inkscape :D

Re: Change the overall colour of an object

Ah yes, sorry I forgot to check, I am using one of the recent builds (they are used for testing and debugging), the version 0.46 isn't ready to be released yet But you can play with the other colour effects you have in 0.45, they also work great and they're probably even better for your problem than...

Re: Old Style Lettering Gradients

I used a different approach. The tutorial you're referring to does have the word "gradient lines" in the title but it doesn't mean you really have to use gradients. I used Create Tiled Clones... option Here's the result: http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/7537/gradtilyk0.png And here's how...

Re: Determining print size

Units can be quite confusing, its a bit too late in the day to give a complete and sane explanation (makes me dizzy in the head) so Ill just try this: While open in Inkscape the image will show its size according to 90dpi resolution that it (as I understand) a default for Inkscape. This is what the ...
