Re: TEXT (Put on path) upside down

You're welcome :) Still sounds as if it would take a lot of time, but at least now we know why, and what can be done.

Re: TEXT (Put on path) upside down

The difference is not as big as you think, because what 'counts' is the bottom left border of the text. And you need to take the letters' angles into account. They bend into different directions. You will need to make manual adjustments. Inkscape isn't good at guessing its user's intentions, it just ...

(Tav put it in not so long ago :) - it's meant for Asian scripts, but works with Latin ones, too)

Re: TEXT (Put on path) upside down

It only works on paths, circles cannot be reversed. You'd need to do Path -> Convert to Path first.

Re: TEXT (Put on path) upside down

How about changing the letter distances to spread the letters a little wider, then? See text tool's tool controls.

Would it help you to know that this will be available in 0.93?

Yeah, I know... I tried vertical text, then turned the letters. But it didn't look right.

Re: Text Spacing Vertically

@brynn: they want to reduce the line-height. @banjoo: change the line-height. (I tried the different vertical writing modes that Inkscape supports - look in the far right of the text tool's tool controls, where there is a dropdown arrow that allows you to change the writing direction and more - but ...

Do you remember what lead to the data loss? Did Inkscape crash during saving?

Re: TEXT (Put on path) upside down

Option 1: Make the second circle larger, so it's going to have the same center as the one for the top word, but includes the top word completely.
Option 2: Place the cursor in front of the bottom text, then hit Alt+Down Arrow until its top touches the circumference.

Re: Can't open the SVG file

Are you using an outdated version of Inkscape? An error like this happened on Windows on previous Inkscape versions. If your version is not 0.92 or higher, please uninstall Inkscape and install the latest version. Also make sure to activate Autosave in the settings. This will help prevent that you g...

Re: how change make line (shift +L)?

Yes, for checking out shortcuts, one can always refer to: https://inkscape.org/en/doc/keys092.html

Shift +L has 3 (more or less) different meanings in Inkscape.

Re: Change Desktop theme to DARK

You can keep the A slider all the way to the left. That way, you will not have the background color in your exported pngs or pdfs.

There is a way to set the style for Inkscape only, on Windows. If you want to google it, search for 'gtkrc' and 'Inkscape' and 'Windows'.

As the last version of the script would most probably not have worked, because dependencies weren't met, here's an improved one: https://github.com/Moini/inkscape-embroidery/blob/patch-1/bin/install_ink_embroidery_Ubuntu.sh For automated install of the embroidery convertor software, use this: https:...

Re: Changing plane using 3 points

Exactly. So you'll either need to learn programming in Python, or you will have to find someone who will do it for you. I myself don't have time for this at the moment (and I'd only do it if I were paid for it, and if the client were located in Germany). You may have some luck if you ask on the Inks...

Re: Is it possible to adjust the width in the bezier curve?

That's how it works.

Some of the other modes may have changed to use Powerstroke (if you're not both on the same Inkscape version), which has different nodes to regulate the width (they are pink).

Which mode specifically were you trying to use to get a PaP effect?

Re: Changing plane using 3 points

I meant to take them as examples for writing your own extension - there doesn't seem to exist an extension / functionality of Inkscape that seems to satisfy your needs. I was showing you the way to make something that does. Then you can make it so it does it in one time, just as you need it.

Re: Changing plane using 3 points

I guess then your best bet would be to take a look at the interpolate and perspective extensions, and try to transform your drawings by indicating two triangles and an object associated with one of them (or both?). Perhaps also parts of the RealScale extension will be of use to you. They're all writ...

Then make sure to also copy the settings of the Bézier tool - it's probably set to already apply a shape to the path.

Okay, so it's not necessarily 3 points, but could also be more. Have you looked at the perspective Live Path Effect?
