Re: Taking a leave of absence

I hope that road is going to be as short and soft as it can possibly be - thank you, too, flamingolady, for all your input here on the forums! See you soon!

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

As the last version of the script would most probably not have worked, because dependencies weren't met, here's an improved one: https://github.com/Moini/inkscape-embroidery/blob/patch-1/bin/install_ink_embroidery_Ubuntu.sh For automated install of the embroidery convertor software, use this: https:...

Re: Changing plane using 3 points

Exactly. So you'll either need to learn programming in Python, or you will have to find someone who will do it for you. I myself don't have time for this at the moment (and I'd only do it if I were paid for it, and if the client were located in Germany). You may have some luck if you ask on the Inks...

(btw. you can check the type of path effect on a path if you look into the status line, or open the path effects dialog)

Re: Is it possible to adjust the width in the bezier curve?

That's how it works.

Some of the other modes may have changed to use Powerstroke (if you're not both on the same Inkscape version), which has different nodes to regulate the width (they are pink).

Which mode specifically were you trying to use to get a PaP effect?

Re: Changing plane using 3 points

I meant to take them as examples for writing your own extension - there doesn't seem to exist an extension / functionality of Inkscape that seems to satisfy your needs. I was showing you the way to make something that does. Then you can make it so it does it in one time, just as you need it.

Re: Changing plane using 3 points

I guess then your best bet would be to take a look at the interpolate and perspective extensions, and try to transform your drawings by indicating two triangles and an object associated with one of them (or both?). Perhaps also parts of the RealScale extension will be of use to you. They're all writ...

Then make sure to also copy the settings of the Bézier tool - it's probably set to already apply a shape to the path.

Okay, so it's not necessarily 3 points, but could also be more. Have you looked at the perspective Live Path Effect?

Oh, I mean that, as a user, I haven't been able to make them work like I think they were intended by the developer. I hope that Tavmjong Bah, who worked on it, will still improve it.

Re: Changing plane using 3 points

Probably. This sounds very similar to what the Interpolate extension does (to my knowledge).

Or perhaps the lattice deformation live path effect / the transform by 2 points path effect could be useful - but they don't seem to do what you need exactly.

Re: Tooltip properties

To style a tooltip / title attribute for use with the web, you'd need to do that via a CSS rule that applies to your SVG file.

The user interface will be changed in Inkscape 0.93 (it will offer some useful presets - although, admittedly, I haven't been able to make them work as expected yet...).

They already look different in a browser. Is that what you mean? Or do you mean that a single file looks different if opened with different Inkscape versions?

Try the 'Polar Coordinates' option in the Object > Arrange dialog:

(or the extension I've linked here:

Re: Numbered Dial

Try this extension: https://github.com/brathering82/inkscape

(haven't tested it with 0.92 - might not be 100% exact and require resizing of the whole scale, to get correct values)

Can you share a file, please? Was the file originally created with 0.92 or 0.91? And - which 0.92 are you using? The current one, 0.92.2?

The 'open path' part is a known bug, I think. Just tested with master, it's even worse there - I get each node duplicated PLUS an open path.

Hi Beth, I shared your feedback with the Inkscape developers on the Inkscape developer mailing list (https://sourceforge.net/p/inkscape/mail ... ape-devel/ - they don't usually visit here, but I think they'll like to read it!).

@Polygon: yes, the group also gets my computer fan whirling, with no apparent result after a couple of minutes (when I closed Inkscape forcefully).
