Re: path effect bend with convex, concave path

Works for me - did you click on 'edit on canvas' in the path effect dialog (the node tool icon) and then manipulate the bend path?

Re: Uses for web design?

Mockups, Icons, SVG fonts, color schemes, SVG drawings that can be used for animations come to mind.

Re: Interpolation Problem

Make sure you create the first shape from the second, then the nodes will (hopefully) be in the correct positions. There needs to be a direct node-to-node correllation between the two shapes. But anyway, probably the same object copied with different stroke widths or with outsets should give you a b...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

Your ideas sound very good, lexelby :) Would you try and contact stesie and jonh about the licences? I'm not currently interested in learning on my own how to put up a ppa and how to package software the correct way (I'm a checkinstall user... :P). I think launchpad provides a tool chain for that th...

Re: Inkscape printing wrong dimensions on paper

I'd check my printer settings for margins in that case. Some printers have margins where they cannot print (or the settings add some), and then the drawing is resized until it fits the printer margins. The drawing looks correct.

Re: Uninstalled Font still usable in Inkscape

<off-off-topic> There are good news for powerstroke improvements (something to look forward to, flamingolady, if you disliked how long it takes to make a nice powerstroke drawing, and how complex the dialog looks): People who own (or buy) a graphics tablet will (in 0.93) be able to draw strokes of v...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

Just read lexelby's instructions, seems we need pip. lexelby_ , could you add a (open source) licence to your repository, please? Then I could make a merge request for my script. ha1flosse, if you like, you can test it on a new Ubuntu (copy into a file, e.g. setup_ink_embroider.sh, then run the scri...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

Been looking into it, after ha1flosse asked me for help, and after some consideration, I think a .deb is not the ideal way to go. A simple install script that sets it all up will suffice, and it will not interfere with any existing Inkscape installations (i.e. it will not install a second Inkscape t...

Right - sorry! The black printing issue though should be resolved if you're using Inkscape 0.92 (please check your version number again in Help > About).

Re: Create a practice A4 page for calligraphy

Of course I see it, it's due to the gif compression. Nothing I can change, it's hardcoded in peek. Doesn't always seem to happen.

Wow, that's ... unfair, with the fonts.
Take care, and lots of luck to you, flamingolady, I'll be thinking of you. When would you expect to be able to return?

Re: Inkscape file prints blank

Can you share an example file? And perhaps a screenshot of your printer settings, a photo of the printout (if there is something on it...) and the page size you're trying to print on?
The black printing bug has been fixed for 0.92.

Re: Uninstalled Font still usable in Inkscape

Can't help with the MS Office issues, but for the fonts - why don't you use some that have an open licence? There you're not going to need to ask for a written release - because you can just use the font's licence deed - e.g. SIL Open Font licence.

Re: Making hexagonal honeycomb lattice

Off topic: Oh, didn't think of tracing... A bit too much work for that manual, and too heavy files for serving on the web - especially given that booktype (the software that is used for writing the manual) doesn't even accept SVG. But when vector screenshots become a possibility, with Gtk3, and we c...
