Re: inkscape slow ?

Great :) We're on 0.92.2 now, not sure if you just cut off the second 2 in your post. If you're really using the 0.92 version, than you might like to update to 0.92.2.

Re: animated svg-s

I wonder if the bike text could be 'written' instead of floating in? There's an option to do that with dashes and offsets, as far as I remember :)

Re: Is it possible to replace "system icons" with v0.92.x in macOS?

I think that's not possible, it's using your system's system icons - it's the same for me on Linux. It's a known issue and might be fixed in the next major version (0.93).

Re: inkscape slow ?

As far as I know this is (or was?) normal for the very first startup on Windows. Does it still happen? (Do you have lots of fonts installed? Which Inkscape version are you using?)

You could also request that pstoedit be added to the flatpak - it's useful for makers and scientists :) Hope then the flatpak will be complete :)

Re: How to send click signal to the Apply button without using mouse?

That's impossible, currently... The command line doesn't take any parameters, except for those listed in the man page and this: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Using_xverbs . You could do alignment with other objects automagically, but almost everything that opens a dialog needing user input...

Re: "Failed to load requested file" for EPS in Inkscape 0.92.2 Linux

Yes, it might be that the flatpak you have doesn't include eps support, I don't know. Can you ask its author here: https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/item/10685/ ? Also please include your ghostscript version number and your libpoppler version(s) ("ghostscript --version" and for the other, as...

Re: animation

Wow, from that rough sketch you got to this!!! Determining the correlations between bike parts and letters looks super hard to me. Did I count ~ 23 keyframes? How did you make them?

What is your goal? Could this be done using the command line? Do you want batch processing?

Yes, I just had a very dim flash of recognition - I think at one time, someone else mentioned that as a solution for running Inkscape on a headless server... Definitely need to remember xfvb next time!

Re: How to send click signal to the Apply button without using mouse?

I think it would help us to answer your question if you could elaborate on your goal. What do you want to achieve? Hitting apply might not be the best way to do it.

Re: Can I merge a path into an envelope via an extension by way of the Inkscape command line?

There's an extension called 'generator', see http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Extension_repository#Generator for more info. Examples are given in the linked example file set. Not sure if that's useful though, as it basically does what you do with php, just in bash and with UI and via CSV file...

Re: "Failed to load requested file" for EPS in Inkscape 0.92.2 Linux

Those instructions are for Windows, but good that you checked, so we can rule out a missing library. Can you please do the following: - copy the output of "which inkscape" into a comment here. - try to open the eps file from the command line by entering "inkscape /path/to/file.eps&quo...

Have you selected both objects? Inkscape usually tells you what's wrong in the status line. What does it say?

Re: Can I merge a path into an envelope via an extension by way of the Inkscape command line?

You should be able to. Steps to do it: 1. print out all verbs, and (if on Linux) search for the correct option by adding a "| grep envelope" at the end (else you may need to browse the list, or search it in some other way): inkscape --verb-list I find it as 'de.gerrit_karius.envelope'. 2. ...

Oh my, I forgot to ask people to join Diego/Alface if they are interested. I guess that no matter how things go with the Indian printers, there will be people needed to help get things going, and those don't need to be programmers.

Re: CMYK drives me crazy

There's some hope - I've just had contact with two guys who might be interested in running a crowd funding campaign (which would be a lot of work, and the outcome would be everything but sure). If they decide to do it, I'll let you know here on the forums. Or if you would like to help with it more d...
