Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape

Historical note: AFAICS Inkscape <= 0.48 did convert the path data from fonts to cubic Bézier commands already when converting text to path (or maybe even earlier, internally), which might explain why some (older, or external) extensions did not see a real need to support other path commands than wh...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape

If the user used a Boolean operation, like Path -> Combine or Path -> Union, would that do a rewrite, too? (or path -> difference with an object that doesn't intersect, maybe....) You can test yourself e.g. with the ' o ' (or ' O ') of DejaVu Sans (usually available on Linux desktops, and on many d...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape

I have no idea how to tell Inkscape to convert a quadratic bezier curve to a cubic one, but I think this is what would be needed. Node-edit the path (e.g. select a single node with Inkscape's node tool and nugde it with the arrow keys) - the node tool does not support editing quadratic Bézier and e...

3.- Markers At first I could only see 3 kind of markers in the Fill and Stroke dialog. But now I can't see anything!. Right now I don't know how to solve that! If you've got old text in old files that looks off when you open it with 0.92, try running the extension written by suv su-v (aka ~suv here in the forum ;-) ) : <snip/> The context of the extension is explained in the bug report where I submitted it for inclusion: ⋅ Bug #1652340 “ Extensi...

Re: data with the frame clipped

V, do you happen to remember? I refer to my earlier comment, and would recommend to test with a specific font family instead of a generic one like sans-serif . And I would make sure that the specific font is installed in such a way that it is available to both Inkscape and to the web browsers on th...

Re: data with the frame clipped

Keep in mind that ' sans-serif ' is a generic font family - which font actually is used to render text formatted with such a generic font family depends on the SVG viewer, and its (or the system's) font backend. Based on the screenshot your current Inkscape installation (for whatever reason) seems t...

Not an Inkscape problem - the current Snap package for Inkscape just does not include GTK2 theming (see also these tweets).

Re: Problems regarding Fill and Stroke

Make sure that you don't use ' From clipboard ' as ' Shape ' unless you intend to (and have a path copied to the clipboard). If the clipboard is empty when drawing a path with shape taken from clipboard, the pen/pencil tool will created filled output - the path with 'Pattern along path' effect appli...

Re: Text not wrapping upon importing a .vsd file

Inkscape uses an external library for converting Visio files to SVG. Support for advanced or complex layouts of text content needs to be implemented in libvisio , not Inkscape. Such an implementation should not use Inkscape's current 'Flowed Text' format - it would need to be compatible and coordina...

Re: Problem using tool panel in inkscape

The trigger of the issue as reported by some users is unknown (and along with that there are no known 'steps to reproduce' such behavior intentionally, and no workarounds have been reported/shared either). AFAICT it possibly seems to be related to some user-specific settings (e.g. for GTK2, for the ...

See “Double counting background” in the manual for an explanation - this is sort of a limitation of SVG filter effects in the current SVG specification.

Re: Canvas is useless upon loading

I just tested with Inkscape 0.91 on OS X 10.7 Lion with XQuartz 2.7.9 - the symptom matches a custom ''Colors" setting (in XQuartz' Preferences > Output) of just 256 Colors. Make sure to choose a higher value - AFAIU the default setting is to take the Colors information 'From Display'.

Try the solution discussed in this earlier topic: black screen, can't open/preview files (possibly some incompatibility with display profile / output 'Colors' setting in XQuartz, not sure).
