Date and Time Stamp not updating in .92 for 64

I have a couple of issues with the .92 v, but wanted to break them up in at least two posts. I recently updated to .92 for 64 on my ancient Windows 7 computer. The date and time stamp do not change to the current date and time on any updated save, they remain as the date and time created, but only i...

Re: gradient import/export

A quick work around that I sometimes do is to copy the object that has the gradient in it, then paste it into the new file, usually on a new layer, then save that file. You can then select it from the gradient dropdown menu (as you would select a color). Once you're sure that the gradient is really ...

I'm having that issue with some things too. Basically following your post as I don't have an answer. Could be a pc virus, (more specifically, not a virus but things like google or Facebook tracking keywords so they can target ads to me, it really slows the computer down, can't get rid of that totall...

Re: Blurry Logo When Placed Online

To add to the above, be sure to export at the same size as what you want your end result to be, rather than enlarge it after exporting. If your program allows for it, I usually try to export the png, then open it up in GIMP and save as a jpg to get the clearest quality.
good luck

Re: Searchable PDF?

thanks for that addl info PT! I did hunt down the online manuf manual and it does not mention the need for any software, so maybe it's already in there and my hubs just doesn't realize it. We use Word, so that ought to work. What I haven't figured out - the hubs can only do a one page scan at a time...

wow, good info, thx to all who replied! I was not thinking OCR at all! His 3 in 1 does not come with any scanning software, which surprised me. So we have to figure out what software to get for scanning too. I was hoping to find one program that allows the document to be scanned and searchable but d...

Searchable PDF?

ok, business folks, heads up for this question please. My hubs runs his own business and does a lot of subcontracted investigative type work (think lawyer'ie type docs that he can't let just anyone see). Anyway, he needs to scan about 50 sheets of this legal data so that it ends up in a searchable P...

Re: Sometimes the border/stroke becomes blurry

addl tip: I've also heard that you should ensure the width and height and all those top boxes have the sizes ending in '0's. See how your width is 34.154, try making it 34.0000 and do that with all sizes, and that is supposed to help with the blurriness issue, somewhat.

Re: Straight line with exact distance between nodes

Just to add my 2 cents worth. That issue bugs the beegeezers out of me too. When I need things to be exact, I draw the line and have no stroke. When using a filled object, I do what Lazur said, have one object that is filled with no stroke, and one that is only stroke and no fill. What a waste of ti...

Re: Animate layers inside Inkscape

I'm not an expert on this topic by any means, but I have played a little with animation. If you do a search, there are some posts about how to do it. One person used Inkscape solely and I think another made the graphics in Inkscape and then did the animation in GIMP. I ended up liking the latter way...

Re: How to change Inkscape's canvas color

You can change a whole bunch of stuff, including the canvas color by making a new template, then save it. Or, you can change the default template and it will open with the colored background each time. You can change all sorts of stuff on any of your templates, the size of your canvas, the shading/b...

Re: Lock proportions on by default

I'm not sure there is a permanent quick fix, but, I you could make a new 'default template' where you make that change, then save it. There are specific instructions on the forums here (do a search on default templates) on how and where to save to. It's pretty easy (even I can do it, lol). I've made...

Re: Text not printing - what did I do?

Changing the style and/or colors of text shouldn't make a difference. The actual font can make a difference though, not all print out correctly. Here's something else to try: Actually, I would start from scratch, delete your text totally, and start fresh, copy your text, then place the original on a...

Re: Simple problem of filling a shape

I always tend to use Druban's method - I select all, then do a path/union, then delete and unnecessary nodes that didn't combine correctly, the it fills just fine. If you want various hues, then I'd use path/combine on each segment that I want as a different hue. Also, fyi - Inkscape by default has ...

Re: png vector problem - quality loss?

Make sure you are using the export bitmap under the File tab, and not the cairo export.
Also, for good results, export at about the same size as what the end result needs to be (without resizing later), that helps the most for me (and I sell on stock sites).

Re: How can I create sub layers

I like to have 3 layers when I open up my default templates, so I changed my default, and if you want to, you can do the same thing, except make sublayers. To do this (follow the methods above), and while you are at it, change whatever else you want your page to look like, size, zoom, etc, then save...

On the contrary, one plus one does equal more IMHO! I see having more than one site as being like an ice cream store, just because I have a cone today doesn't stop me from buying ice cream at the grocery store and having some tomorrow = different approaches to getting to the same end result of eatin...

Brynn - I took at look at the site - nice job, and impressive! I will be joining very soon. Re: Saving to .eps causes ugly black fog in background

Nice job Lazur. Appears that Lazur simply placed the background lines above the image for the appearance of opacity, great idea. EPS cannot handle transparency, or gradients, filters, sadly. I would suggest that if you want opacity, that you convert your text to a path, then it should be ok to save ...

Re: 3.75" x 11.5" bumper sticker templates for Inkscape?

I haven't seen any bumper sticker templates, in fact, haven't seen many vector bumper sticker drawings to be honest, maybe that's why. But, you can easily make your own template in Inkscape, bumper sticker or otherwise, then just save it in your template folder. If you search 'templates' on here you...

I would also suggest just drawing your own, that way the proportions are always correct. But, I was wondering if you do draw your own, if there's a way that you could add it into the default arrows? I don't know how to do it, but maybe there's some sort of code someone could write to add it? Someone...

hi, and welcome. Inkscape is fabulous for logos! Definitely easy to use for your first 2 examples. the background on the 3rd might be the most difficult to re-create, but probably could be done. I suggest going to YouTube and looking at the tutorials there. My personal fav is the series from LDD (Le...
