Re: Jellyfish Dessert

..as you said texture in 3d is related to images mapped onto surfaces. isn't a texture overlay in inkscape almost the same except there are no 3d just 2d coordinates for objects? the svg was just the sketch for the textures, what means i used for example the ripples by scaling them to the faces of t...

Re: Jellyfish Dessert

..hey brynn, thanks for the reply! agreed, the texture isn't that prominent but regarding the simple style of the other fish in the scene its all right. the screenshot and the game are realtime renderings in blenders game engine. the textures of the yellow fish were drawn in inkscape (the textureske...

Re: Jellyfish Dessert

hi there how are you? i've been working on a game in blender game engine lately, using inkscape for textures. for example, this is a sketch for textures on a yellow fish character i did recently and wanted to share with you (svg to download from openclipart.org, click img..): https://openclipart.org...

Re: obama and merkel

thanks brynn and Johannski, this helps A LOT, as always reading your reply's. nice reference picture! agreed - the side view of merkel needs some work. the longer i am thinking about good jokes for bad politics, the more taking world affairs with humor seems like a tough job.

obama and merkel

as things are heating up in europe driven by global political players, this seems like a good point for some skit packed in funny shorts. still wip, here are the first character-concepts, mr. obama and mrs. merkel. are they recognizable as obama and merkel? which character-concept you'll find more i...

Re: Dillerkind's image pool

beautiful pic, very sexy indeed! you're right to refuse to say "realistic", better say the style is more "sophisticated". i like both looks, the less and the more comic look, your style is nice anyway. i'll ask the people from inkscape-forum.de if this is still necessary. accordi...

Re: Dillerkind's image pool

You're right in that the hair doesn't look very natural or realistic. I guess it's influenced by your typical manga/anime style, mixed with other influences. I don't know.. I'm struggling with hair in every single picture I make. Haven't really found "my way" yet, though I have to admit t...

Re: Dillerkind's image pool

..nice work - really like the foxgirls' blueprint because of its simpleness. the colored result is nice too, but the hair has some artificial look-and-feel (regarding the transparency and shiny areas) in my opinion, but maybe its just a matter of taste. the pixel-art is interesting and unique, looki...

Re: Jellyfish Dessert

hey, thanks a lot for your replys! so, Lazur URH, i agree the lettering of the strip you mentioned is too small. i reduced the color palette aiming for a balance of size and colorfulness but i see that the result isn't satisfying at this point. i thought as long as the jokes are not stunning, the ar...

Re: Jellyfish Dessert

hey johannski, nice to read your reply as i am receiving very limited feedback regarding the animated strips. ok, the jokes are kind of flat but you can't do anything better than the best you can do at this point - right? here and there are some animated strips from other authors who frequently kick...

Re: Making it look 3D / some sort of Depth Perspective..

there's no trick, rendered your logo with blender (http://www.blender.org) for a reference picture. you can import your svg-file into blender, convert the object to a mesh and extrude the 3d-block but you need some basic knowledge about blender (see blender wiki @ blender.org). as far as i see, inks...

Re: Making it look 3D / some sort of Depth Perspective..

adding 3d/depth is easy in inkscape. as you see in following example, just by copying and pasting the logo and scaling the result. just a 3d edge at the corners is missing which can be added manually. the logo looks interesting, but the hands are not matching perfectly - seems you created them by dr...

Re: Export selection to Bitmap truncates part of image

normally, inkscape does export the actual dimensions if you export selected object(s). maybe you should doublecheck your setup? or attach the .svg file to your post? created and exported a 1500px circle as "selected" and "custom" and had no problems exporting as 1500px png so far...
