Re: PDF Printing Problem (Text Missing)

You're right, it's just that the version number varies. I think it might be that people update their browsers more often - or automatically and freely - than their other applications. Just guessing. the only certain way - and of course this doesn't address your question at all - is to save as a high...

Re: PDF Printing Problem (Text Missing)

It has something to do with the application they use to print from. Even if they are using adobe acrobat the version of acrobat has a lot to do with what elements are lost. MSword also is spotty. Openoffice gets some things and loses others.. scribus is excellent but no print shop is going to have i...

Re: 0.47 too slow with wacom tablet

It's the little things like zooming/panning etc. Zooming I can only do clicking the right mouse button equivalent, I miss a dynamic zoom or using the touch strip 'mouse wheel' JimR Bitmap tracing is not much manual input oriented, but the pen is very useful in Inkscape. My absolute favorite - penci...

Re: 0.47 too slow with wacom tablet

Hi! In your Inkscape preferences there is an item under 'Mouse' a checkbox that says 'use pressure sensitive device' uncheck this and configure using 'input device' from the regular menu. Always quit Inkscape and restart it using the pen to see the results of your fiddling ... You might have to pick...

Style indicator and gestures crashing

I have a repeating problem with using the gestures from the style indicator to change the fill and stroke values of an object. This is what happens: I drag away and move up and down and get the expected changes, but as soon as i press one of the modifier keys the status bar message begins to flicker...

Re: A label for a tumbler, cone-like cylinder

Hi Nekomanma, and thanks to suv :) for the conversion. Using that svg path here's a demo to show you how you might do this. The work is a little sloppy but you can be very precise and lay down more guides for your own project. I also did not add any nodes to the control paths of the envelope in this...

Re: A label for a tumbler, cone-like cylinder

If I understand what you are saying: you want to make a rectangular image that you can wrap around a truncated cone without apparent distortion. The development of a cone is a sector of a circle. The angle of the sector relects the 'steepness' of the cone (eg a 90 degree sector would represent a ver...

Re: How do I get the "Freehand Shape" extension for 0.47pre3 ?

GoNow the perfection would be to find a workaround to "emulate" that INCREDIBLE " Boolop " path effect Well, Your pefection has been residing in Inkscape for some time now in the paths menu's boolean operations. i don't see anything in that boolops movie that can't be done right...

Re: How do I get the "Freehand Shape" extension for 0.47pre3 ?

That helped, but still I cannot find the filter/effect that was used to change the path from a flat line to a wider object with width controlled by the control path (this is the wide rectangle which he bends to get e.g. a sharper start of the letter). I think you mean the pattern to path effect? Th...
