Re: InksCape SVG as standard?

^"Least common denominator" in the sense of plain svg vs. inkscape svg.
Eps is another format unrelated to the svg specs.

Re: Dragging bitmap images from browser to Inkscape?

Copy/paste works here, sort of.
However alpha transparency is disregarded so ctrl+c/ctrl+v thumbnail from ocal with no backdrop leaves with a "black rectangle".

Re: Automating Export of .png files

My bad.

If it was indeed for an animation project, the random factor wouldn't necessarily produce a contiuous image sequence.

Anyway, here is a test image for morphing animation with the "rounding" altered:

Re: Automating Export of .png files

^Ha!

Nice you could get it to work. However the original post was about altering the rounded parametre and not the randomization. Maybe that would be more stabile.

Re: Automating Export of .png files

Hi. Hey it looks like you tryingt to make an animation . Checking the star object in an svg with a notepad it looks the star is stored as a path -with inkscape specific sodipodi tag; meaning illustrator wouldn't open the star as a star but as a path-. With <animate> tags a large variety of svg eleme...

Re: Is there a way to programmatically fill(paint) areas

Hi. The interpolate extension can iterate colour changes based on the two base paths selected. The interpolate attribute in group can also come handy if the paths are pre-existing. Tiled clones can iterate colour changes and not just interpolate steps in between, however the options may be limited i...

Re: Making metallic wires

Hi. Oh it wasn't about the layout . There are a couple built in filters in inkscape. Unfortunately there is no quick preview for them. There is an outdated sample file shipped in the inkscape/share/examples/filters.svg file. Made one similar collection myself, the bevel filters may be the closest ma...

Re: How to snap to handles? (v. 0.48)

Hi.

Try the visualise path-draw handles extension before snapping to it or
add a show handles path effect to the snappig target -with a 0,01 scale factor for a close match; somehow there is no snapp-able node at the centre of the visual cue.

The built-in duochrome filter (filter/color/duochrome) can do the job.

Check this file.

Re: Inserting an image and changing the background colour

Hi. Depends on what your objects are. If the snowflake is a raster image you can ⋅ use masking, where the masking object is a duplicant of your image ⋅ use filtering -the built in light eraser filter should suit the job (or a custom filter; I'd use that instead of checking what t...

Welcome aboard!

Sounds like a fun project -from what I could understand. Have to admit not clear what you are after.

Blender can import svg files for 3D modelling, wondering what do you use for x3d.

Welcome aboard!

You are definitely looking in the right direction.
If I'm not mistaken the clone original path effect can do what you are looking for.

Snapping can be disabled by pressing "!" on the fly. It has a toolbar on the right side of the screen with options you can toggle. snapping objects Usually the snapping to cusp and smooth nodes are the most handy, and snapping to path segments can be resource heavier. By registering at dro...

Re: paisley pattern

Instead of attaching the svg, try a host like dropbox and share its url. For the freezing my guess would be you enabled snapping to everything and moved some objects while zooming out/inkscape has problems for computing which object to snap to which object. Disable snapping for such an action. In ge...

Thank you!

Eosin glazing is pricey, yet the same gloss can be seen on small bugs as well.
Will have to look at more reference images next time for a more specific effect.

Re: Scaled documents

Hi. As far as I understand there is a unit in which the coordinates are stored and there is a display unit on top of it (achieved by a viewbox). Meaning, most likely the coordinates are represented in px values, and with the recent upgrades mm got to be the default display unit. That was meant to so...

Diffuse filter pack, although this one uses one light direction instead of the original four.
