Re: Anti-aliasing gap issue

Lol, I thought that was a request for Inkscape. 101, that was in the linked topic in the very first post of this topic. This problem is as old as anti-aliasing itself -double edges produces rendering issues with the alpha channel. There are several topics of related problems here and there , most n...

Re: Anti-aliasing gap issue

Got response by Jabiert who directed me to #lgm @freenode right before, which lead me to github's w3c project -after 3 video uploads. (With the suggested workaround brute-forcing the anti-aliasing=setting a shorter gradient in the approximate model.) If it was only for that bug report it would never...

Re: Anti-aliasing gap issue

Edit: made a request here. Yes, I was just going to suggest bringing the idea to developers! I'm afraid that is all over my head.... If you look closely I did that already almost a year ago . Which got zero response at the time. The recent feature request was issued straight to w3c css draft develo...

Getting closer. #simplealphacompositingexamples example 9 https://drafts.fxtf.org/compositing-1/examples/two_box_transparency_both.svg -this is where the problem is at. Figure 4 shows an example where both the shape and the backdrop are transparent. Applying the compositing formula in the area of in...

Re: Introduction

Coding-wise, currently my focus is pretty far down the stack at the renderer layer. I maintain the Cairo graphics library, which is what we use to convert geometric objects into the pixels displayed on the screen. Lately I've been learning and experimenting with Vulkan, which is a hardware-accelera...

Re: drawing an arc aligned with grid points

Hi. Only thing you miss is inkscape not being a cad program. First you may need to increase the precision in the preferences at the svg output settings (Shift+Ctrl+P). Then, hava a look at this: primer on Béziers . Svg may be able to save circular arcs as path segments but there is no gui in inkscap...

Re: Removing Boundary Lines Between Objects

The shirt printer may or may not be able to use the rectangles. You might have to use Path menu > Object to Path, to make them all into paths. Or use Path -> Union to combine them into one path. ^-To avoid confusion combining=/=union. Latter's shortkey is Ctrl++ as already written above in the very...

Re: Why the image size increases after exporting to png?

Hi. Dpi=dot per inch=made up value on a real world unit=density of virtual building blocks in a physical distance. Photograph are said to be printed at 600 dpi ->scanning may need/would be preferably of a higher resolution than 300 dpi unless it's a simple textbook for example. Result is an image de...

Re: Font making

Hi.

Inkscape can save svg fonts but cannot load them.
Use fontforge to convert the svg font to a truetype one and install it on your system.

Re: How to recreate this typography with inkscape

Hi. It's more like a copperplate-like writing than one with a fixed pen angle (=parallel lines). There is no *automated* solution to emulate the effect as it is a matter of calligraphy, how the pen is pulled, how the frontline is articulated during writing etc. However there is the powerstroke path ...

Re: animated svg-s

Synfig for bones? The title of this topic was animated svg-s -nothing fancier than that, no >>animations<<. Browsers choke on rendering even such simple svg-s, we are not there yet to have *live* rendering of animated vectorgraphics of this kind. Animations may be rendered to image sequences or to ...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?

Sk1 anyone? If you want a trifolded print with high quality I'd be more concerned about the bleed/safety area/cutmarks/page size etc. for the start than embedded raster image's resolution (larger size/resolution the best-it's that easy). Colourproofing is yet another territory I never lurked into. ...

Re: Is there a tutorial to make a jpg curve? Or what's it called?

Nothing that can be done with Inkscape, if you want to deform a jpg, and not a vector image. Except for filtering, which is what a raster image editor does too. Theoretically it is possible, however with the hard-wired limitations it cannot really/easily be geometrically perfect. See this: http://t...

Re: Diffuse Lighting - Surface scale

Hi. I only remember the surface scale tab being 5 the max, bit surprised it could be set 30 once. But my guess is the end value rendered is the same, just different scales? 5 is quite contrasted when set, raising the surface above that point would be leaving out the midtones soon. With a bit of comp...

Re: Imported png wont display

Hi. I'm not familiar with the wmf format but my first guess would be even if it supports raster images, it probably doesn't support alpha channel in the embedded png. Would try extracting the raster image first, and save a copy of it with gimp that has no alpha channel and use that instead of the or...

The file works perfectly here on win64bit Inkscape 0.92.2 -maybe an update will fix the issue?

Re: Inskape modifying path while doing path > division

Coming from the IRC, precision is at the maximum. Using a "sans-serif font" "e" with a 32 size in the example above. (Guessing Greg is not on windows). I remember there was a similar topic related to an inkscape bug but I cannot find that nor can reproduce the issue on win 64bit ...
