Re: Dillerkind's image pool

if your happy playing with the bleeding edge version you may want to take a look at the powerstrokes path effect. its an editable variable width stroke with configurable linecaps. Its for exactly the kind of thing your doing with the pattern on path effect above.

You need one of the ones with win32 in the name, either the zip or exe. Should be the size listed on that page.

I'm risking my account when posting this (as it might be considered spamming) but I like to show this off to all Inkscape haters who claim you can't do anything productive with it. :) If its inkscape related and in the right forum, and your account has history of real posts then we would never outr...

The thing that springs to my mind when I see your art is how good a style it would be for illustrations for Terry Pratchett novels.

The GPL license only applies to the progam code. Anything you create with inkscape is entirely yours and you can do whatever you want with it.

Hes duplicating the whole shape (Ctrl+D), with a circular gradient going from color to transparent, then modifying the duplicate, and just repeating.

Isn't android java based? In which case your porting language not just platform. Plus it would be hideousy slow. Ui would need some work for a tablet too I expect.

Re: Removing and Adding Toolbar Buttons

Toolbox.cpp would be a good place to start if I remember right (not at home so no access to the code) the othe files you may want will be the context files, so select-context.cpp for the select tool, these should all be in the main src directory unless someones be rearranging again. If u have code q...

Re: Rename patterns?

You have to use the XML editor as far as I know to rename them. find it in the defs then change the id on it. vacuum defs should delete unused patterns, didnt realise that opening and closing did, it probably shouldnt. You can delete them in the XML editor too, just select the pattern in the defs an...

it was a bug in 0.48.0, was one of the reasons we did 0.48.1 I believe. Should be fixed if you update to the point release.

Re: Custom object types (CAD dimensions) in SVG

You want to declare a namespace and then add parameters in that namespace that tell you what the object is. Thats how we do stars, polygons, 3d boxes, etc. If you draw a star then look at the inkscape svg you'll find a number of inkscape: or sodipodi: tags, these are things we use internally in inks...

If you use any of the shape tools, LPEs, layers, then save as plain it will come back as normal paths. Unless your really pushed for disk space, or are uploading it, saving as inkscape SVG keeps it more editable. inkscape SVG should still render identically in firefox etc as the extra info is in the...

Re: Various svg variants

group is as its part of the document structure, layers arent as their just extra info we tag certain groups with. (your layers will essentially still be there as groups.)
