Re: Exporting Nodes Coordinates

Since I code on inkscape anyways I'm more than happy for it to go into head, I did however base mine off a blog post at http://jumpnslide.tumblr.com/ which doesnt explicitly state a license, have asked Jean to confirm hes happy with that.

Update - Jean has confirmed he's fine with it.

Re: How to Install 48.1 ?

If you fancy trying to build it may be worth emailing the dev list, theres probably someone over there who knows about building on ppc.

Re: How to Install 48.1 ?

Its not a matter of us forgetting you, its a matter of someone with a suitable build system stepping up to make a build for us.

you can turn off transforms in the prefs, if you then move anything the transform will bake into it, just select then nudge left then right with the arrows

Re: Exporting Nodes Coordinates

Heres a quick and dirty extension that will pop up a window with the co-ordinates of the current path. Extract the 2 files to inkscape/share/extensions, then do extensions>export>export XY. You need to have straight segments or it will dump the coords of the control points as well. You need to make ...

Re: Studio to PDF to Inkscape

Hi Lucille, the file you attached isnt a true vector, its a series of bitmaps embedded in a SVG file. so essentially bitmap wrapped in vector. CutePDF appears to have 'printed' the vector from studio to the pdf by converting it into lots of little bitmaps, not an entirely unusual side affect of thir...

I emailed Tav, the author of the book, his reply was this: Thanks for your email. I tried to register for inkscapeforum so I could answer the question directly but unfortunately it didn't work. My guess is the registration confirmation email didn't make it through my Internet provider's very strict ...

Re: Image cuts a ton over top of each other????

did you do a multi trace? you may have a whole bunch of greys that are all overlapping shapes getting output, and its cutting each one in turn.
try scanning it without using multiple traces.

Re: Help cutting a circle, and working with text on a path.

Create the circle as a full circle, duplicate it (ctrl+D) scale the duplicate while holding shift and it will scale around the centre. (in fact duplicate it twice, may want another copy later) select them individually in circle tool and change the settings to 0 to 160 or whatever works for the arrow...

Re: 3D to SVG

You cant define 1 shape with 3 colors like that no, you can do 2 with a gradient, but not 3 that are non linear. Think the best way to do them would be 3 co-located triangles that each have 1 corners color in a radial gradient going from colored to transparent.

Re: Porsche

Thats clearly not an auto trace, its way too clean. I dont see the need to post a link to an original photo, your gonna see a picture of a TT with porsche wheels, what does that add to the vector? I think part of the issue here is some people use the word trace to mean click the trace bitmap dialog ...

Re: Comming to Inkscape from flash... HELP!

although inkscape is not %100 SVG; i think understanding SVG is most helpful to working with inkscape or other more vector centric programs. inkscape is pretty much 100% SVG. we dont do anything that isnt SVG . We do have extra parameters in our namespace that let us edit things more intuitively, b...

Re: Comming to Inkscape from flash... HELP!

If you use the pencil to draw over filled shapes you can use the division operation in the path menu to cut the solid shape with the curve. Thats probably the closest easiest thing to the workflow originally mentioned.

Re: One Inkscape Dislike [Rantish]

The main thing to consider here is that there wasnt a 'porting' process as such, GTK wasnt used to allow it to be ported, it was used as a good library on linux. The fact its cross platform enough to allow builds to be done one other platforms with very little effort is the main reason we have what ...
