Where can I upload my images?

What about http://commons.wikimedia.org ?? It displays inkscape SVG images really well, including the thumbnail!

I have sad news.

Because of abuse, http://petaimg.com/ has stopped offering free, no registration, uploads of SVG and SVGZ, among other formats.

The message on the site says it's temporary as of August 31th, 2009, so I hope it will return, and the webmaster is looking for people to take the service back. He is also "cleaning"... more work for him, it's a pity, really.

People who have uploaded images will still be able to see them or link to them, that is the relatively good news.

I have good news.

Following the (hopefully temporaty) problem with http://petaimg.com/, I"ve searched for another site which would be:
- hassle-free (no Flash, no web 2.0 stupidity, etc...),
- allow SVG (and SVGZ) uploads,
- AND would also allow to see them as images - because that's what they are!

I am pleased to announce that http://www.imgh.us/ does that, plus it allows you to keep track of your uploads with the optional help of a cookie.

Inkscapers... please, I pray you... do not abuse the imgh service as petaimg was abused. It's very rare to find sites which allow *viewing SVG*, and *viewing SVGZ*.

Thanks for the info on imgh.us. I too am sad and angry to see petaIMG had to close down because of abuse. People who do that kind of thing are such *expletive deleted*!

Anyway, I'm trying to use imgh.us for the 1st time and I'm having some trouble. But I don't see any Help or Contact link on their homepage. Do you have any idea how I might contact them to get some help?

If someone honestly believes they have a quality image hosting site that supports SVGs, then you can PM it to me and I'll evaluate and add it to the list.
