Editing in real time with symmetry

Postby salientdigital » Sun Feb 11, 2018 3:24 am

I finally figured out how to use the clone + rotate copy feature. It's awesome. However, I am wanting or wishing now to create a clone or symbol, and be able to edit the original clone or symbol in real time - in order to draw intricate symmetries.

Is there any way to do this?

Sorry, I don't get what you mean. What is an 'original clone'?

Maybe you have seen this:

For symmetry on a single axis, maybe check out the Mirror Symmetry LPE:

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

It might also be worth taking a look at my tutorial series: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11981

In particular, part 29 covers symmetry using clones, and part 69 covers the Mirror Symmetry and Rotate Copies LPEs.
