Inkscape Boardgame Extensions

The countersheet plugin was designed to produce sheets of lots of similar components (ie counters or cards), combining SVG objects from different groups in Inkscape as described in a spreadsheet CSV file.

I wish I could try making a game, but not sure where to start. If I were to create graphics for a game with Inkscape, how would I make the game work? I assume I would have to learn about scripts (javascript for one), and maybe even learn (not to mention buy!) Flash software? Aside from the tutorials you provided links to, do you have any tips for 1st time game designers....novice game designers?
