I like what you're doing with combining the textures with the clean vector lines. Very 21st century!
Take a look here for woody textures,
and here for an innovative approach to pattern fills...
(The bitmap patterns are CC licensed and downloadable, but I think the guy is a little eccentric and has made the download button - invisible! Just move your cursor around in the empty space under the pattern name until it turns to a pointer and then click)
Your mind is what you think it is.

Thanks druban, the one with a woody patterns is a real treat ,) I suppose treat should be followed with a trick as well, during the October, but I had no troubles with a visibility on the other one.

I`m pretty much fond of wood, in woods as well in rooms, but now it`s all in one place. Really nice treat.

Maestral,
I've been meaning to post a comment on the images you've posted in this topic for while...but I'm not qualified to offer any artistic critique, and I do feel a little like a parrot squawking when I can only say" OH wow, beautiful work!" over and over again. ...still, thanks for sharing these with us. Lovely work. Especially on the Automobile illustrations and calendar pages. I also liked the Milonga de un Amor poster very much.

Hello there!

Thanks Inkspots for your kind words. Hope to see more from you, too. Full sails!

After a while, my favorite game helped me gather some patience ,)

Hey Maestral -- I've missed you lately :D

Wow, great image -- love the detail! And the monotone (if that's the right word) is very effective. Out of curiosity, what does the text say (in English)?

Looks art nouveau-ish. Was that intentional? I guess it was. :)
I love it. Strong contrast of b&w gives it much power.

Glad you like it 4hn. Rounds up with yours lady, and with a few drops of moonshine... almost a party ,)
I`m not sure if I could put this under any specific style but would bare it on mind for the next ones.

Just recently I`ve realized how many boys had dreams (apparently some were wet,) about this car. It`s not my mug of beer, I prefer curved shapes and lines, but I went trough these straight ones and tried to understand how much I didn`t know about these boys ,)

The Lamborghini! +++1! The taillight detailing is superb. Downloaded! Who needs 3D...

Very risqué comment, or maybe it's all just me?

The smoking woman is very nice in a Hundred Bullets kind of way (Eduardo Risso)

Glad you like it. Still, I can`t figure out the trip with the Lambo and sharp & cornered edges but - Lambo is a rolling legend.

A propos l`femmes...
I`ll say it just lead one to each other. The candle, cigarette... I wouldn`t go for less than 100 bullets ,)

Excellent example, I like Risso`s style very much. Unfortunately, I`ve "lost" that expression in my drawings somewhere along the time. But there`s some hope for those willing to pull some strokes from time to time - have I mentioned the Sketchcrawl before? Warm recommendation and in fact, the weather cast for tomorrow is : Sunny with occasional sketchcrawlers ,) A day when fans of paper and sharpened graphite sticks are crawling around.

I, too, like the smoking woman piece. The simplistic style is great! The desert pic isn't bad either. As for the Lamborghini... Weeell, I'm not really into Lamborghini or sports cars in general (yeah yeah I know, this is sooo not manly :D). This and I don't get very excited about (photo-)realistic stuff (I prefer the stylized look in many of the other car pics you posted before). Nonetheless, from a purely technical point of view, I think you've done an awesome job with this piece. Smooth and clean with a good eye for details. Thumbs go up!

Btw. I found a tiny mistake in one of the pics on the first page, to be precise the "Feeling like a fish out of water" one. There it says <i>felling</i> instead of <i>feeling</i>. Don't know why I never spotted this before... :D

To be honest - me neither.
I`ll have to accept it as - fish just fell out of water. <)

I remember I had low patience for these tut comparisons between Inkscape vs. Illustrator while making the tut example in Inkscape.

WHy not do both? :D
[img]Just imagine here a gif of a little girl, indoors, asking, "Why don't we have both?" and then a cut to a crowd of people, outdoors, cheering and lifting her up on their shoulders. She throws her arms up in joy. The sky is a bright tropical blue. The ocean is made of the tears of the dead.[/img.]

Due to the limited capabilities... instead for the tears, dead were engaged in the crowd. On the moonlight. Dancing. ,)

Hello,
Did you do that animation using only Inkscape? With which tool?
If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.
2.- Please check here:
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/index.html
3.- If you manage to solve your problem, please post here your solution.
