I wasn't even aware this existed in the first place. I'm a Windows noob who rarely does anything in the shell these days.

(How can I seduce you to test, when the test phase begins?)

Hahaha, I can't answer this. I usually stick to stable releases. Depending on the program, it's often not the best idea to use test releases for actual work. But at the same time I find it incredibly hard to just sit there and click around without an actual goal, just to test a program for stability or bugs. So basically, the only way for me to find bugs would be when I run into them while working on an actual drawing - which would be after the stable release is out because.. well, what I said above. You see, it's a circle of doom :D

Well done, one can see that you really put a lot of effort into your art, and that you got talent. Keep it up!

Thank you for your kind words! I'll do my best.

Good luck with the bribe. Even I can't think of something I would want and could be bribed with :D I know testing is important. I'm not saying that I won't check out test builds when they become available. I just doubt that I can provide extensive testing. And from my experience, whenever I run into some bug or crash or whatever, it's usually already known. But we'll see.

XRay is that viewing mode slider, I assume? I was saying a couple comments back that while I don't think that I'll be using this a lot, it's still an interesting feature. And since you're already here: I was wondering if this could be used to switch between any combination of the available viewing modes (e.g. normal - greyscale or outline - no filters) or if it was limited to normal - outline.

Hi Sven - this little one is really cool :) (does anyone in your family have the initials NE?...)

I'd like to ask you if you want to join Inkscapers at or before LGM: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... %C3%BCcken .

There's going to be a smaller event on the 29th, before the 'grand opening' of the LGM, where Inkscapers have a small 'booth' (more like a table, I assume), and your help could be valuable there. LGM itself might also be interesting for you.

Oh - and you can drag your students with you, if they are interested ;-) (not sure how far it is, though - maybe too far?)

Hey, sorry for the late reply.

You guessed correctly. I made this for my nephew and NE are his initials. Usually I place my own initials somewhere in the image, as print on shirts or little labels like in this case.

LGM... ehhm, I'm afraid it's highly unlikely that I'll be there. It's during school time and above all, I'm kind of a recluse who rarely travels and visits events with more than 10 people. No students to drag along either. My little workshop experiment ended back in 2017 and I didn't extend my contract. Unfortunately I didn't manage to keep the kids interested enough to make this thing work. So, at some point I decided that I'll just stick to math tutoring and let others do the creative teaching.

That's cool, with the personalized label :)

Too bad that you're not likely to attend, not even for a short visit :-(

Hehe, the kids didn't value it - their loss! They'd have had a chance to learn from a master.
I believe that math tutoring sometimes needs creativity, too :)

Unfortunately there are things in maths that are a bit abstract and not as figuratively explainable but wherever possible I use "colorful" examples to show them how to deal with these things and -where possible- the relevance for their everyday life. Not always very creative but I'm working on it :D

As for the Inkscape workshop, I think they might still have been a bit too young. I notice a general lack of concentration among these kids, not just in the workshop. They're veeery easily distracted, and that's coming from me, a guy who's actually quite distractable himself. But as I said, I'm taking at least part of the blame. I tried to show them the basics and then let them experiment and figure stuff out for themselves. That clearly didn't work out. Showing and explaining stuff in more detail was probably not very entertaining for them either. Anyway, there's nothing to be done now and I don't want to sound like a grumpy old man who's complaining about today's youth. I mean, sometimes I do but usually I try to be understanding and tolerant :D They can still be fun to work with so that's okay.

----------

And here's my latest little piece. I felt the urge to get back to an old favorite subject of mine - cute girls. Some more variants can be seen in the current blog post, if you don't mind partial nudity.

This was done for somebody's school project. Subject was medieval witch trials. See latest blog-post for variants and a tiny bit of info.

Here I put together a bunch of monogram thingies for the current challenge in the Inkscape group on Facebook. Some really old, some newer, different styles. See this blog-post for a bit of background information.
