Iterative art
Re: Iterative art
I find that with the more natural textures, the borders of the objects look a bit harsh (but generally, I like the more natural look you've adopted recently, Lazur!).

Thank you!
Wanted to try out the stone megapack in action, although adding that was less than 1% of the drawing process.

Making it took longer

Re: Iterative art
Previous image was somewhat based on this one:

Again, this does not produce anti-aliasing gap issue-interference a slightes bit, unlike the ones before 50 posts.
This kind of approach is not so easy to handle for a pattern where there are multiple spirals interlocking.
It should be way easier with smaller base tiles.

Re: Iterative art
nice stuff, espc. the 3rd from above! i've been reading about fibonacci and his work lately, he was pretty much a genius juggling with numbers and proportions. truly amazing if you look at the geometry of nature from fibonaccis' point of view and how he puts the determination of proportions into math... like you did.
Re: Iterative art
Thank you!
With each restarting from scratch it is improving.
The "Fibonacci spiral" is a clever play for constructing although the result is not so universal or without flaws for a spiral.
Once I develop a decent rendering, I will go back to these.

Re: Iterative art
Thank's!
I couldn't figure that pow out. Also now I realized the sample can be set up to even 1000 on the menu. Or even more, typing in a higher number into the fplot.inx's max="..." in line 14.
That line art guide looks great, will try that out sometime.

Re: Iterative art
All works are interesting to look at. I couldn't take my eyes from them, especially the works about bars. I didn't know the golden ratio grid could be used like this. o.o
Re: Iterative art
Well my eyes certainly feel different having stared at those for far too long...

Thank you!
Have to look more into this kind of stuff, the filters almost took over by number.
Recently I'm revisiting the ring idea.
This one, more precisely.
Didn't realise there was an update on that impossible ring in 2015:
.
Now I'm completely reworking it, with an improved overlapping structure.
Part of the flaw with the original was the repeating nature of the rings -with each having the same fill, the shading needed to be somewhat symmetric.
So far I'm having a file "in progress" with all the crazy layering -around 6 sublayers and 60 layers in total, with parents and clones in a structure that needs more improvement.
As a work in progress, here is how the rings will look conceptually:

Edit: now looking back at the first ring concept, the previous rendition was sloppy too. Maybe drawing 1 ring fluently will be a good start.

Re: Iterative art
As a followup, now the gradient fill is in a 45° parallel logarithmic spiral shape:

It is *way* more complicated than it should be to draw.
Had the idea to make the two sides follow the opposite direction (far right) but the steps don't match. Needs a manually constructed solution for such a pattern.

I was about to comment the same thing!

btw, these arts are amazing. I love the red/black one most.
Re: Iterative art
@Lazur: asking you in your role as filter expert:
Would there be a way to solve the problem described by Eduard here, by modifying the filter generation instead of the documentation?
