Yes, 9 year anniversary in June/July. It would be a shame to lose it all. But that's what it appears is going to happen.
Almost 2 weeks ago, I gave my 2 week notice for answering messages here. After that I will be involved in creating a new "official" forum (and of course continuing to maintain Inkscape Community, as before).
However, that will not be a fast process, and I couldn't even guess how long it might take.
I started Inkscape Community almost 3 years ago, in full knowledge of the admin's (admin of IF, this forum) apparent lack of interest, partly so there would be a fallback, in case this forum disappears. So if this forum disappears, or if Lazur gives up on spam patrol, we can use
Inkscape Community's forum.
And another little fact. Of all the possibilities in creating a new official forum, designating Inkscape Community as the official forum, is one possibility. I hope only a slight possibility, but there are a lot of factors to consider, and we'll start down that pathway next week.
Because I will offer the databases of IC (tiny as they are, compared to IF) to the new official forum (if IC turns out not to be the official forum) it would benefit the community to migrate to IC asap. Because every helpful message posted and answered here on IF is as good as lost already. I'm holding 0.5% chance that the IF databases will be saved (because the admin isn't answering any kind of message). So the sooner we start posting in IC, the better for the community as a whole.
